By state:

Florida 5-1
Oklahoma 3-0
California 2-1
Texas 2-4
Alabama 2-0 (with one still to play)

California could only muster three teams to play in a bowl?

OU's opponents in bowl games: 3-5

As mentioned here many times, all of Oklahoma's three state FBS schools finished with at least 10 victories. I'm not sure, but I don't think a single Texas state school finished with more than 9. Weird, huh?

Despite only sending half as many teams to bowls, Oklahoma state schools outscored Texas state schools 146-142.

Perhaps the most pathetic stat of all:

Texas sent six teams to bowls. Notice the location of the bowl game and the participating school:

UTEP (El Paso, TX) -- Albuquerque, NM
Baylor (Waco, TX) -- Houston, TX
SMU (Dallas, TX) -- Dallas, TX
Texas Tech (Lubbock, TX) -- Dallas, TX
TCU (Fort Worth, TX) -- Pasadena, CA
A&M (College Station, TX) -- Arlington, TX

That's right, all but two played in-state. And one of those out-of-staters traveled a relatively short distance (roughly 200 miles to Albuquerque as the crow flies). Yet all they could muster was a 2-4 record (and one of those victories was by TCU, the only team to travel a significant distance).

Here is the Oklahoma comparison

OU (Norman, OK) -- Glendale, AZ
OSU (Stillwater, OK) -- San Antonio, TX
Tulsa (Tulsa, OK) -- Hawaii

All three won handily.

EDIT: Thanks, yermom.

OSU played in San Antonio, a bit over 500 miles from Stoolwater

Good post. OK > TX. By what means? Talent? Maybe not. Coaching? Yes. Attitude? Yes. Not being Texas? Yes. Texans absurdly believe that football is just of higher quality in Texas because hell....its Texas. OK has a fraction of the population, therefore a fraction of the talent. Its numbers game, not rocket science. But I guess I shouldn't expect Tejas fans to understand math. Just like they don't understand why Bob is better than Mack.

Actually, I believe our opponents were a combined 4-4

W= Air Force, FSU, Texas Tech, OSU

L= Missouri, A&M, Baylor, Nebraska

Not great, but not terrible.
