I've seen this kid play, compared to the Norman RB, he's by far better!!!!!

I watched him run all over my son's Owasso team in the state semis...phenomenal burst...once he hits a hole he's gone...I think he scored 4 or 5 tds in the semi and ran for well over 200 while splitting carries...

Me too. I think Broken Arrow is playing Odessa Permian this year and Abilene is playing Booker T.

Southlake Carroll tried scheduling Jenks or Union, I think it was Jenks, about 5 or so years ago when I was there. They wanted NO part of Carroll...

Nobody wanted any part of Carrol back then. Katy was the only team that beat them there for a couple seasons.

IS Alex the son of former OU RB Alvin Ross?

I doubt that...seeing as Jenks went and got raped by an absolutely loaded Springdale team.

I LOVE Katy and their style of football. I remember watching them in the state championship one year and they had a RB that went to UCLA. Never heard from him again. I hear Heritage Hall is suppose to play Flower Mound Marcus on ESPN.

I have seen Ross play in person last season. I like the burst of Ross and physicality he brings. Funny thing is I see Ross just like Travis Lewis. Travis was an all state RB from San Antonio. Nebraska actually recruited him as a RB. OU gets him as a LB and the rest is history. I see the same thing in Alex's future IMO.

Good call bro... Never looked at him as a Safety. They say Gundy is the reason he Committed but with the stable of backs we have I just can't help but to see him on the defensive side of the ball.

Talented kid with good size. Could be a beast on any side of the ball.

It's funny, that profile lists a 4.50 40 yard time, but I swear some article about him I read the other day said 4.35 40 yard time. It's amazing how many misleading or flat out incorrect 40 times come out on these high school kids. I imagine in SEC country he runs a flat 4.00 40 :D

40 yard dash times are terribly inaccurate. You can have a half dozen experienced coaches timing the same kid and the times will be anywhere from say: 4.3-4.5

Unless the time is done electronically it ain't worth carp.

even if its electronically timed, its still crap because 99% of the times out there are hand-timed, so you have no real reference point to compare the electronic times to.

Until they run at the NFL combine, on the same track, with the same timing equipment I dont believe what anyone says about 40 times.

Any time a football prospect is a quality 100-200 meter sprinter in high school it's big time.
We're talking about a kid that weighs 210 lbs and is layin it down with those guys.

This is so true... Jerry Rice ran a slow 40. Never saw him get caught from behind. How many of them can run a 4.3 with pads? Game speed his what matters.

I heard this about Ross. That he is a big time sprinter and is a favorite to compete in state in 100 and 200 meter. Give me that over a 40 time.

The 07 Katy team was unbeatable. They destroyed us that year 48-0 and we held them scoreless in the 1st quarter. I would've put them up against any team in the country

Just saw in the Tulsa World where Ross won the 100 meters over the weekend with a 10.58.

Alex committed OU because they implied that he was not going to be a linebacker but would remain a running back.

Don't hold your breath on seeing him become a Sooner unless some academic qualifying pixie dust is sprinkled on him.

I remember right at the turn of the century Union played a home and home against (I think it was) Culver City, CA.

Culver City at the time was suppose to be one of the top 25 teams in the nation.

Union beat them in Tulsa by the score of something like 35-7.

The next year they went to CA and blasted them by the tune of 56-0.

I cannot remember if those are the correct scores or not...Hell, I cannot remember if it was Culver City now that I think about it. But Union did play some California team that was suppose to be really good.

Just a few years back, Springdale, AR beat the hell out of Jenks.

I believe that was Clovis, or Clovis West, whichever is the big power. They're right outside of Fresno. Big-time program, but clearly a few rungs below.

I once saw De La Salle -- I know you've heard of them -- play Mater Dei, which had a pretty dang good team, including a guy named Matt Leinart. DLS had some kid named Maurice Drew.

It got ugly pretty quick -- De La Salle won like 42-0 on the way to setting their bazillion-game win streak.

Calling BS on this... The simple fact that you claim he won't make it academically makes me believe he''ll end up enrolling in the spring!

I remember someone made this same statement about Sterling Shepard and kid is an A-B student. But haters are gonna hate. Looking forward to seeing Ross in Crimson and Cream.

I could understand saying academics the semester before he comes, but three? There is a lot of school left for that kid to graduate.
