Ipod touch Madden NFL11 install problem

Any of you folks ever had an app or game not install on your ipod touch? My son downloaded Madden nfl 11 and it went to install and it just says installing. it's been like that for 3 days now. Can't delete it to start over either.

Have you tried rebooting the iPod?

Is iOS updated to the latest version?

Have you tried resetting to factory settings and re-synching?

I'd start by trying those three things, in that order.
