Saw a small story that Kendal Thompson, son of Charles Thompson, will enroll for the spring. Being from the Tulsa area, I hadn't kept up much will him at Southmoore. Just did a little internet catch up on him.

Haven't read about any plans to change his position from QB. From what I read he could be a dual threat, but has been a shotgun/pocket guy in HS. He's also a lefty.

Any thoughts/rumors on his future at OU?

Here's a story with a video of him. He's a mature, calm young guy:

Immediate future: Redshirt

Once he gets back to 100% from his injury he'll be good...idk if he ever will be a starter or not though. For some reason I think he will be a career backup.

His dad autographed a football I gave to a friend. I'm glad Charles got his life in order and his son will be able to experience Sooner football like his dad... maybe not just like him, but on the same team and all :)

Sincerely,

Projection of Sam Bradford

I said when Sam was recruited, that he was one of those high recruits, but not elites, from Oklahoma that often come to OU and become phenomenal. No, I didn't predict he'd be the amazing super-stud that he was, but I was thinking "parallels to Jason White, here".

I see the same thing in Kendal. He's going to be a great one.

It just pisses me off when goobers like Pappy say things like that.

Too bad he isn't a kicker, maybe he could practice deep kicks at Pappy's sack.

my uncle coached HS football in Oklahoma and Texas for 30 years and he said the same thing about Sam and Jason....those guys are hard to keep off the field. you can just see it. Sam committed early so his "ranking" wasn't what it might have been.

most of us thought Keith Nichol was the QB star of that class. Meanwhile, and nothing against Nichol since he was by all accounts a great kid....he's playing WR at MSU and Sam is pushing St. Louis toward the playoffs.

This is pretty cool. How many father-son combos have suited up in the crimson and cream? Why haven't we seen a Selmon kid?

I've seen Dewey's family. I think they're all still young. Maybe in a few years.

Thompson will be the starter after Landry Jones graduates/goes pro. I don't think that LJ will leave after next next year, but if he did Kendall would start as a RFresh.

i'm guessing that's Blake Bell.

From what i have been told, he will play safety. Very talented kid, but if he dosnt redshirt he will be up with Blake Bell and if he does, they want him for defense anyway.

This sounds like a good plan. Doesn't every college athlete play QB in high school before moving to their natural position in college? :)

My source says yes.

It seems like it, unless they're a burly lineman or kicker.

Im not so sure about that, he was recruited as a QB, not a Safety

If only we had access to a source.....:D

Thompson reminds us so much of a left-handed Russell Shepard and the same scrutiny will apply throughout the recruiting process-- will he stay at QB or move to another position? At this stage in the game Thompson has a stronger arm and is more polished as a passer than Shepard...For full access to College Football Recruiting become an Insider

LeeRoy's son played at South Florida. LeeRoy was athletic director at the time. Kid could play, but he was no LeeRoy.

Re: Father Sons that have played at OU

2 were on the 2000 NC team. Can anyone name them both?

Mark Bradley and Danny Bradley comes to mind real quick.

Yep I'll go ahead and give the other one away with this hint. The other pair both started as QBs at OU one time in their careers.

Sam Bradford's dad played at OU too. I'm sure I'll think of others.

While I'm at it. Ragging on a kid that has committed here and has never played a down is quite small phallus-like.
