They so badly want to have a highly thought of football program. We should have to pay for that type of entertainment

It pays what? Couple hundred grand?

They have been an excellent stepping stone for a while now.

Hell, I've never coached a day in my life, but if Boone wanted to pay me a quarter mil, I'd give it a go for a year or two.

I never denied being a whore.

— Bottom line: Mike Gundy’s program took a huge step forward in 2010. 11-2 record in a rebuilding season. OSU could be on the cusp of something special.

and so it officially begins :pop:

So true. But considering we will be on the verge of having triple the amount of conference championships, than wins over OU. I dont see that happening. Especially once boone croaks

If by "hire" you mean "rent", yes. I do think Gundy will be there until T. Boone fires him, though. Good for the Pokes, better for us. :texan:

OSU has had a top flight offense every year that Gundy has been there except for last year when he called his own plays, so it's not like it's a graveyard for OC's to go and die.

Cowboy, why oh why did your school make such a big deal out of finding an offensive coordinator when your offense has not been the problem? Why do you continue to seek out offensive coaching help when your WORLD'S MOST POWERFUL OFFENSE is not really on life support.

Yeah, you want your head coach actually paying attention to the game and out recruiting instead of doodling up plays with his back turned to the field, but why all the offensive coaching focus? Shouldn't you just go out and find a second D-coordinator and let the offense go on auto pilot at this point?

I heard on TV that Gundy wanted to wait to see how all of the coaching changes shake before he hired a coordinator because if he hired one too quickly, than that person could find another job at a school that pays more and go there instead, so it could be a couple of weeks.

Not here to bash on Holgerson or OSU, but doesn't anyone else thing the Holgerson/WVU/Coach in waiting thing is a little goofy?

He is going to WVU to be the OC next year, then take over as head coach in 2012. Makes me wonder how motivated the current head coach will be next season... and how it would affect the HC/OC line of command dynamic.

Well last year for us our defense carried us to a few victories instead of the offense. I think that Bill Young is a great coach but he left a lot to be desired this year. It seems we always gave up 3rd and longs. Which was due to him only rushing 3 on 3rd down. So if he shores that up then they can be a decent group. They have some talent on that side, just extremely young. I guess we'll find out how good they are in the next 3 years.

Okie State has a good football program right now. They will get a good O.C. and I guess I dont' really have a problem with Sam Mayes being a homer but the lever of his homerism just make me chuckle.

Not really. That's saying we'll find out how good the defensive guys really are in the next 3 years as that's how much eligibility they have left. A lot of our defense were freshmen this year

For all of those out there snickering "team on the rise," they won 11 games this year. That means they'd have to win 12 next year to be a "team on the rise." They're not going to win 12 games next year. They are going to surprise nobody. Them beating Arizona this year means that Mike Stoops is gonna destroy them next year. Loss number one. Then, they're going to drop a conference game that they shouldn't sometime before they meet us. Loss number two. Then, they will loss to us again, because Gundy doesn't beat Gooners as a head coach. Loss number three... aaaaaaaand team on the downfall.

Well, I respect that. Pat knows whereof he speaks. Many, many 'real' offenses ran around, and over, his cowboy teams on their way to lopsided victories.
The man has seen real offenses in action. Up close.

Moral victories abound in the stool.

So... do they have an offensive coordinator yet? I know is Stillwater and Oklahoma State and working under Mike Gundy and all, but like I've said before, the offense doesn't need coaching. It has two fairly competent players that can do whatever you want, even if it's backwards lateral passes for 20 yard losses. They will somehow turn that into points... even if it is for the other team, nyuck nyuck nyuck. :P
