One of the NFL announcers (maybe Gruden?) referred to him as the best FB ever, college or Pro. He could be right on that King had break away speed and moves you don't see in a full back. Allstot, Riggins or others might be tougher, but King could pound it up the middle or take it to the house in a foot race. Great football player....

Whenever I think of Kenny King, I think of my first (and only) Super Bowl in 1981. Plunkett was scrambling around trying to avoid a sack and threw a desperation pass out to Kenny, who grabbed the pass and shot down the sideline to the endzone. The Raiders never looked back after that play.

I loved watching him as part of those great Raiders teams of the early '80s. I still remember them just running all over Washington in the Super Bowl - media dubbed it Black Sunday because the beating was so bad.

This^^^^^. I remember watching it. Philly was a heavy favorite in that game w/Jaworski/Carmichael/Montgomery and thanks in great part to Kenny King and a seemingly huge stroke of good luck throughout the course of the game Oakland became the first wild card team to win a super bowl....

Great back. One of my faves. Definitely a top 100 sooner of all time. Could have been a tailback or fulllback type in college or pros. Best OU wishbone fullback IMO.

He was awesome, I met him at a Red/White game back in the late 70s, he didn't play.

#30 was one of my early faves...man, that guy was fast...when Lott had the option going, it sure was fun to anticipate King streaking into the secondary...

I liked Kenny King best when he was in the backfield with Thomas Lott, Elvis Peacock and Billy Sims.

The Clarendon Flash - greatness. Another stud Sooner from the Texas panhandle.

Watching him take that first hand off in the option like getting shot out of cannon and busting a 40 yard TD was a thing of beauty.

Greatness

I met him in Dallas in the late 80's, and he was so nice!! He let me try on his Super Bowl ring and autographed a menu for me.

I was at a party in the 70's (I have CRS...lol) at a lake (can't remember which one) but I do remember it kinda got outta hand and Kenny was there. He was with the Raiders at the time and the next thing I remember was him shooting a gun in the air & telling everyone in hearing distance to 'settle down'.

Needless to say everyone did!

No, I don't like Kenny King.

"Whether I'm right or whether I'm wrong / Whether I find a place in this world or never belong / I gotta be me, I've gotta be me."

Altogether now!

"I just gotta be me!!!!"
