My list would involve a few tight ends in the mix..

1.) Mark Clayton
2.) Ryan Broyles
3.) Juiaquin Iglasias
4.) Trent Smith
5.) Germain Gresham

I know that Keith Jackson was a TE but he was better than most of our WR during any era. Since you stated WR, here is my list.

I'd go with

Broyles
Clayton
Owens
Rhymes

After those four, you can just pick and chose

If you are going to include TE's in a best WR list, how the hell do you leave off Keith Jackson who was the best TE of all of them?

If you look at my preface you would see that I know that. But both lined up out there at times.

Billy Brooks and Tinker Owens...2 AA WRs on the same wishbone team...and Brooks is drafted in first round...unbelievable. In fact, I suspect Billy Brooks is the highest receiver draft choice ever out of OU.

That's because he wasn't asked to run many routes. He was not drafted in the Top 15 to run block.

I know Broyles is smashing through WR records left and right, but I still have to give the nod to Clayton. He was just so special after the catch just had a knack for coming down with the jump ball as well.

I love MC, but Broyles is just flat out better. He stands out as the focal point of the defense and is managing to break all of OU's records, while Clayton was just one of many weapons that included Brandon Jones, Mark Bradley, Adrian Peterson, etc.

Brandon Jones was a great deep threat. I don't think he is top 5, but a lot of people never realize how good he was because of the talent of the other WRs those years.

I thought we were judging these individuals by their performance in college. Hence my statement.

Forgot to add, he was the 13th pick in '88.

Well, I thought we were judging WR's.

Yeah we were but I thought I would add in some TEs that have seemed to have had quite an impact on the passing game , and they sometimes even lined up out wide.

As good as Jones was, he was more a case of what could have been. If only he'd focused 100% on football while he was at OU.

Good list. As good as any I've seen. Funny how a lot of people think OU just started using WRs in 1999.

I would think Rentzel would have to be on the list, but I don't know who I would exclude to add him.

I saw someone list McDonald, wasn't he a RB at OU? If he was a WR at OU then he definately would have to fit in there, since he almost won the Heisman (and should have). None of our other WRs did that.
