Roy Williams' New Year's resolution involves a bottle of wine and some strong beer.
The caveat to Williams' resolution is he wants wine and strong beer bought from an Oklahoma grocery store.
Williams knows it's illegal for grocery stores to sell those things here, so he's hoping the state Legislature changes alcohol laws to allow it.
“It's kind of an archaic law that much of our competition has done away with,” said Williams, president of the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber.
The chamber is organizing talks with the state alcohol industry and lawmakers about changing state law so wine and strong beer is no longer restricted from being sold in state grocery stores.
