PHOENIX -- Oklahoma and Connecticut have landed in the desert for the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl.

Oklahoma has been through this before, playing here in 2007 and 2008. The Sooners lost both, so they decided to change things up a bit by switching hotels and practice sites.

For UConn, this is new territory.

An FBS team for less than a decade, the Huskies are making their inaugural appearance in a BCS bowl. Connecticut won its final five games to win the Big East, but are 17-point underdogs to the Big 12 champion Sooners for the New Year's Day bowl.

UConn has won three bowls in four straight postseason appearances, while Oklahoma has lost five straight BCS bowls, with a win over Stanford in last year's Sun Bowl.

I think they should switch up hotels and practice locations win or lose. It needs to have a different feel, because it's a different game.

In the end, this has less to do about hotels and practice locations. It's crucial that they play a lot of guys up front and force Uconn to win the game through the air. It's also crucial that they play with a hunger. I hope Josh has a lot of new wrinkles!

The team is staying @ a place not as nice as the lst two fiesta bowls and practicing @ a community college. hopefully the changes will change our luck.

And floggings! That'd make 'em play good. Maybe we could schedule two-a-days this week and make all the players wear garbage sacks to make 'em sweat more...

The only reason I knew my grandpappy had ball is that he had children, kinda spooky as said before.

I remember waiting on Bob and the Team for the Independence Bowl in 1999 and then seeing them come to the Stadium to play FSU in 2000.....

Heck of a start for old Bob. Glad to see him back in the hunt with OUr Team.

Awesome!
