As someone else pointed out, if Tulsa wins, three of our state's teams will have 10 wins.

How often has that happened? Not many I bet.

I'm happy for Tulsa. They were well prepared to compete in hostile territory. Hawaii had no answer for Johnson's speed.

Hawaii pretty much gave it away in the 1st half. 6 turnovers coulda easily been 9 or more. Hawaii QB Bryant Moniz had only been intercepted 15 times all season. He played hot and cold tonite. 400 plus yards don't offset the 4 Ints.

Losing the #6 receiver in the nation, Kealoha Pilares on the kickoff hurt Hawaii as well. He averaged about 100 yards and took pressure off of Salas.

Hawaii had a good season. 10 wins and a share of the WAC Championship after being picked next to last in the preseason.

Didn't see the game so I didn't see the play. Just decided to check the last couple pages here after seeing the highlights that sortof indicated a lot of points scored late despite a blowout.

Anyway, regarding that play, how was it different than that bizarre play in the OU/OSU game where an OSU player batted a pass back inbounds so that another OSU player could intercept the ball?

I think the rule is that you can't bat the ball to advance it forward. The PAT was blocked, the ball was rolling out of bounds and a Hawaii player batted back inbounds so Hawaii had a chance to return the ball for 2 points. The flag was quickly thrown, but regardless, a Tulsa player picked up the batted ball, was tackled and the play was over.

There was no ruling on the intent of the Hawaii player, just his actions.

Well, that pretty much does sound just like the OSU play except that instead of a pass being batted back in (as in the OSU game), here it was a ball rolling towards out of bounds. The OSU play was also batted forwards (forwards for OSU). Was that a missed call? It seemed like an incredible play at the time that was a difference in keeping them in the game.

I pick Hawaii to win , But Im hoping Tulsa does ;)

I watched it and I am certainly proud of our Tulsa homeys for teachin' them Hawaii dudes a lesson... before the game all doing that little dance where they holler and stomp their feet and make ugly faces and say stuff in that weird language they speak out there in those islands.

I'm sure our guys just watched 'em for a bit and then looked at each other and said "they sure do holler good."

62-35.

Merry Christmas and a job well done to the Golden Hurricane.

Nevermind, I was going to bring up the OSU play but I forgot to read the last page. Carry on.
