OU and Texas definitely hold all the cards. I would love to see it happen.

This will upset lil brother.....better go post it at OP. :D

With Texas talking exclusively in partnering their cable channel with ESPN and now Oklahoma pursuing the same channel negotiating the next Big 12 TV deal is going to be very interesting. Those of us at the OSG HQ think Texas and Oklahoma holds all the cards in that negotiation, the other eight will be seen but not heard.

Seeing as how they're in negotiations with COX I'd say you're S.O.L. with DirecTV.

The University of Texas are getting their own cable channel, Oklahoma wants one too.

Blogs are not a news source, they are a gigantic rumor mill with little to no integrity.

Oklahoma already has the facilities built and equiped for broadcasting. They have been working on converting old film so it can be preserved and broadcast. There is a staff in place that is familiar with the equipment, though some extra staff will be needed as soon as it goes on the air. One of my kids is friends with one of the staff members.

Texas does not have a facility, equipment nor staff ready at this time. They can throw enough money at it to get it done, but part of the reason to do this is to make money (recruiting is the other).

It would be funny if OU was on before Texas.

To be successful needs to be available in the Dallas Fort Worth and in St.Louis. I'm excited!

Its a hell of a lot better than Direct TV.

You need to lay off the pipe for awhile if you think that. Cox isn't even in the same league as DirecTV.

You sure? Direct TV is a satellite right? Yea, the Midwest says no thanks. Haven't they lost tv contracts as well?

I believe they were also talking about an online version for those who couldn't access through cable or were traveling. I believe this would greatly increase their viewership.

They could go ahead and do this in partnership with CBSSports and Soonersports. As I'm already a subscriber, I would be onboard, even if they had to raise prices a bit to accomodate all of the contract arrangements.

It's been a dream of mine to be able go to one place and get any sooner sport I want to see online live, including football. Especially since I've moved to Europe and am almost completely dependent on ESPNAmerica to see any of our sports at all. I'd happily pay for it if such a site existed. Maybe all this talk of a exclusive network may finally make that happen.

Hey I'm getting ready to move back to Ft. Sill. I've been using Comcast out here in Georgia. Why is everyone so down on Direct TV right now? Is there something I missed. They were fine a few years ago.

Wouldn't this be available to DFW area too? Alot of current/alumni living in these parts and I would have to think it also plays a factor in OU's market size.
