i kept coming across his name as a cop in Norman, and was wondering if it was the same guy

sure beats stories about former players having run-ins with cops :D

Great to hear he is doing well. I got to meet him during the Sooner Caravan when they were in town.

I would hope he would kick their a$$ for doing something wrong...putting the program in bad light. I TOTALLY understand they are college kids...BUT they are in the spotlight playing for a program like Oklahoma...and the KNEW that when they signed up.

just my 2 cents worth...

The statue of liberty play screwed Carl out of the ending he deserved, so screw the statue of liberty! :mad:

:) glad to hear carl's doing ok. wish that tulsa didn't cut their pd back so much that he could have served up here

Good read. Carl is such a stand up guy. I remember I was so disappointed when he said he was leaving football...but obviously it was for excellent reason. Props to him.

Here's a cop joke from J.C. Watts' dad (first black cop in Eufala):

Cop pulls a guy over for running a stop sign.
The driver angrily complains: "What's the matter? I slowed down."
Cop pulls out his night stick, starts knockin the driver on the head and says:
"You want me to stop or slow down?"

nice...got some friends are cops in KCK...they'll like that one...
