Exactly. This was done to a team on a 28-game win streak, and it did them in. Unbelievable.

Euless Trinity was #1 in the "NATION" as well. Not that it means much, but it will to Pearland.

I thought it was pretty good. Especially against a "good" team. Caught them with their pants down.

I threw this in the comment section. :texan:

Typical. Texans teaching their kids to cheat from the cradle to HS....

Oh, and for anyone who's interested, the kid who caught that TD pass is going to..............Boise.

Some of ya'll need to lighten up . . . it was a trick play that happened to work. The other team needs to pay attention and get better.

i know that its "legal", but kids are taught not to hit players who are "defenseless" or during a dead ball. seems like a play that specifically takes advantage of that.

in short, its legal, but mega-d0uchey

Didn't OU do a play like this this season, against Iowa State or something. We didn't throw down field but it was a wildcat play where everyone was looking at the sideline when the ball was snapped. This is a lot different than that little league play that was posted on here a few months back.

I thought it would be better but good for them.

I don't remember the play you're talking about vs Iowa St but, yeah, this isn't anything like that little league play that was posted a while back.

For one, there was nothing unusual about the snap. It looked just like it always does. They just got the other team to not expect the snap. I really don't see this as being any different than when OU snaps the ball while the other team is trying to substitute personnel.

When you see the QB about to throw the ball and you continue to stand there... then you deserve to lose.

The only thing worse than a team needing to use trick plays to win is the team undisciplined enough to fall for them.

What's unbelievable is that this was done against the USA Today's #1 H.S. team in the nation and the fact that this type of play was all over the innerweb earlier this fall...

The Samoans of Trinity didn't know what hit them...

I would hope that an opposing D-1 defense wouldn't just sit there when the ball was snapped and the QB sitting back to throw.

Especially now that some states are cracking down on knocking O-linemen over that false start.

I'm not sure exactly how well that trick worked, though. Obviously they scored a touchdown, but I think the only thing it really did was get rid of the pass rush (granted, that is important on throwing a deep pass). The corners and safeties are absolute morons if they didn't cover the WR's that were going full speed.

there was a db running pretty close to the wr.

What's the big deal? This barely moves my needle (yeah, I said it) as far as trick plays go. This isn't much different than "the fake spike".

Yeah, that's all I could really see in the secondary from that video. It led me to believe that the corner might have just been beat and not actually tricked.

Remember the Florida State offensiven lineman that froze up during a play? He would have been great on this play.

Love some of the comments. "He was away from the keyboards" is my favorite.

I actually think it might work for a play to give the QB some time. I would expect the D-linemen to at least freeze. If they don't, then they're extremely vulnerable against the screen.

You need to watch more football...FSU football specifically.

Part of Bowden's coaching is for linemen on both sides of the ball to stay frozen if the other team jumps offsides. It generally garnishes a flag on the play.

Two problems with that statement.

1. It does little good to stay frozen when 21 other players are running all over the place.

2. I've only seen this happen once. Have there been other times where an offensive lineman just stood there crouched throughout an entire play?
