Since moving back the kickoff spot has made it more likely their will be a good return, my idea is to give the kicking team the option of not kicking but simply have the ball placed on the 20 yard line of the opposing team. The other idea concerns what happens after team A kicks a FG. Team B can tie with a FG or win with a TD, but if team A regains possession the game is over. So what if Team A tries an onside kick? If they recover the game is over. If not the defense still has a chance to stop the other team (winning) or holding them to a FG (in which case the game continues). Would take a brave coach to try it (onside kick) but is an interesting possibility.

I think there needs to be just one change to the NFL rule and it's just fine. Let both teams have the ball at least 1 time. After that it's sudden death. This gets rid of a kickoff return ending it or an offense winning on one drive in OT. Gives both teams a shot to win. Also it changes strategy in OT if you win the toss you probably would want to kick.
