While a nice gesture He sent it to the wrong folks. The state didnt PAY him the money. They collect a % of yer wages from all employers and then dispense it to folk who get laid off. If ya are an employer and some one files Unemployment against you and gets it, yer rate you have to pay goes up,Thats why so many fight the peeps trying to draw it.
Now the Feds are kickin in bucks to keep it paying longer but not the state

So he should have sent the check to the company that laid him off?

I have also been a dumas...was laid off (voluntary) and could have taken unemployment...but I didn't...mowed lawns, built retail displays, dug ditches, and roofed until I found a new job in manufacturing...

Dint say he was a dumas fer gettin laid off . said he was a dumas fer sending the State the money
pay tention

Plus the company that laid him off dint pay all the money in, Its a group deal paid into by ALL employers

I know you didn't...in fact you gave him props...

He wanted to send the money and he had limited options...

At least he had balls enough to do what he thought was right....I don't see very many people that want taxes raised (Buffet to start) sending in extra money to the IRS...

he musta allowed for interest & inflation. for sure he didn't get $10k in
unemployment for only 4 months.

i was laid-off from lockheed in 1971 & the going rate was $65/week.

That makes you a productive member of society, not a dumbass.
