These projects are much easier when you have private jets and helicopters fly all over the little people.

500,000 acres will get you a lot of water rights.

that's a terrible plan. But this is America and those with the most money win, so power to her.

It's not unheard of to have a sanctuary for animals that get in the way (Bob Barker started a sanctuary for former circus and zoo elephants in California) but it must infuriate Nevadans to have some billionaire's fourth wife come in and tell them what to do with their state's land. It'd be one thing if she was doing this in Texas, but Nevada?! Does she have any ties at all to the area

I think T Boone picked her up at the real Mustang Ranch.

The Mustang Ranch was just outside of Reno. To get there, you would travel about eight miles east on Interstate 80, then take the... oh, wait. Pretend I never wrote that.

Jeebus God Almighty! She's 63!?!?!?!

She must have been the all-time wrist-breaker on this planet when she was in her 20s and 30s.

Just another rich bimbo out to do good. Few taxpayer are aware of the millions, perhaps billions, of dollars the Feds spend annually to care and feed "wild horses". The general public is so concerned about Trigger being dog food that the slaughter of horses has been banned in this country and the Bureau of Land Management pays for the warehousing of wild horses.

One of the truly sad sagas of the modern west is the uber rich buying up ranches to have another "playground". The folks actually trying to feed the country cannot compete with the Ms T-Bones of the world. Of course we can always hope that Ted Turner will give us some of the buffalos roaming on his gazillion acre spread.:P

well, technically horses aren't native to the US, period. the last species died out around 15,000 years ago and then the Spanish reintroduced them to North America in th 1400's.

By gosh, she reminds me of Mrs Howard Schnell-enberger.

Remember her? She wanted to run the pom pons.

Maybe so, but she is all that for 63. Most 63 yr olds are like sweet grandmas just beginning their social security.

"That alarmed Mrs. Pickens, who owned racing horses with a previous husband, the late aviation tycoon Allen Paulson."

Booger Pickens is the second tycoon to marry her. I imagine she is a very talented lady.

"I tell you one thing, you get a woman who has made up her mind to do it, and she has money, she'll do it," he said. "You give her an ax and she'll pay someone to do the chopping."

I wish Boone Pickens and Phil Knight would get out of college football. Very bad development.

I thought all horses were not native to North America. Those conquistadors brought 'em over.

[nevermind, I see this was covered already]

She may be worth more than Booner.
