I don't think the guy made a very good choice holding his ground on the sidelines and tripping Nolan Carroll but I also think it's being blown way out of proportion.

Yea ST but in the article it says he ordered the inactive players to stand there with him . Its really hard to see the trip in the vids.

He's a piece of crap that needs to be fired.

He's lucky he didn't blow the guy's knee out. He shouldn't be allowed to ever coach again.

He's a typical Jets Fan. If they fire him he'll just get a job somewhere else. :mack: needs to replace a piece of crap though....you might be onto to something. :D

Had he been blocked that far OB? Cuz it sorta seems fair game when you're even behind the white stripe. Bush league move, but it would prolly make games more interesting if the sidelines could make contact with any player on the boundary. :D Could lead to some nice clothesline highlights! :D

Did Nolan not see him? He's like a yard to two yards out of bounds. I'd agree more if the Coach had been on the field or even in the white area but...he's got the right to be on the sidelines. Where do they draw the line? Is a Coach supposed to move into the Stands if a player comes off the field of play? Should a Coach now stay completely away from a player even if he could help the guy from getting hurt? I know that's not what he did....but where is the line going to be drawn? The Coach should be suspended. It's not like he took a helmet and whacked the guy as he was running for a TD.

It was on special teams. He was covering a punt and players go out of bounds like that all the time.

Had this guy tripped Mark Clayton (or any other Sooner in the NFL) it would be a different story to you guys. Sal Alosi (Jets coach) even admitted he tripped him on purpose. Like I said, he could have easily blown this guys knee out and ended his season. There's no excuse for a COACH to do that kinda crap.

What the hell were the two Jets Players standing over Carroll after the play? It's almost like the Jets were invoking some sort of revenge and that there might be a whole lot more to the story.

From reading the article, it sounds like players lining up to restrict the path of the gunner is a common tactic. That doesn't surprise me as teams do all kinds of stuff to gain an edge. I think the trip itself is the only crime here. I could see the league stepping in a defining limits of what can happen here.

That's probably the biggest crime here. It would seem that there are folks who may be pushing the NFL to define those limits. I still think this might be some sort of retaliation.

It's the Jets and Rex Ryan, why is anyone surprised?? :D

Rex Ryan and special teams coordinator Mike Westhoff were not involved.

I think it's about how some idiot thinks he can run at you at full speed and if you don't get out of his way....you are a total doosh.

I did that to my neighbor.

Totally chopped off his foot with my lawnmower. He should've moved.

The cops blamed Rex Ryan because it's totally his fault.

Sometimes I worry that Schmidt will do that to one of our opponents.

but where is the line going to be drawn?

No intentional tripping.

Probably should include no hitting, too.
