Whose ring?

It's engraved on the inside JOSTENS.

I thought Larry Jostens graduated in 1984? :)

Well at least it's not as bad as Billy Sims trying to sell his Heisman. I'm glad that he got back on his feet and started some businesses.

Word to that. Billy Sims BBQ opened in Joplin earlier this year and is doing very well. Great food.

Jostens should be the company that made the ring.

I think if you look closer you'll see it belonged to Art Carved.

It could be a ring that was inherited by a non Sooner family member. Who knows?

It's crap they don't tell you who's ring it was. If that ring belonged to J Holieway or B Switzer, it's got one value. If it belonged to Jerry Crafts, it's got a completely different value.

I didn't recall Jerry Crafts playing at OU. Actually it couldn't be him anyway because he was busy being a high school senior in 1986.

Edit: Wait, he would've been a freshman that year (graduated HS in '86).

Is it out of the realm of possibility to think this ring could belong to some random athletic trainer or the guy who does the player's laundry?

I can tell you that they won't take $500.00 as an offer.

A lot of folks in the Athletics Dept gets a championship ring, so it is not necessarily from a former player.

Since its a player's ring and not a coach's ring, its not gold and its cubic zirconium.

I think he played part of one season. Weird thing is, I heard him on Howard Stern a long time ago. He was hilarious. He was a pledge in my house back in 87. I goofed on hazing him and we just sorta cracked up as he had about 100lbs and 6 inches of height on me!

I remember that you could go into any pawn shop in Norman and see at least a couple of rings for sale...
Twenty year olds don't really care about conference rings, they'd rather have the cash.

Heh, but only if it was Jerry Crafts!

Found this on wiki-

According to former Eagles teammate Ian Beckles on his sports talk show on 620 WDAE in Tampa, Fl, during Crafts' time with the Eagles, Crafts and Eagles defensive end Tim Harris would occasionally go to a bar near the Eagles training facility and split a pitcher of Southern Comfort between two-a-day practices.

That sounds about right. I saw him taking on three guys at SRO one time while holding a pitcher of beer. He used to go to the ATO house just to start ****.
