I just ordered 18 of these in Burnt Orange ... I'm ready to bleed with Coach Austin.

This is from hornfans.

I think he's gonna be a good one. Don't ask me why. I'd never heard of him until yesterday.

Love the ultimate fan mentality.

I know who he is. Google is my friend. And the short version is that he wasn't good enough for Muschamp to want to keep, so * will take him.

It just keeps getting better and better.

Since Muschamp came through the defensive side, I can see him replacing Austin. He probably has some pretty set ideas of what he wants to see on D and it would be unlikely the existing guy would happen to match.

Hmmm. One season as DC at UF and before that NFL DB coach.

So, he has no connection to Coach Boom and I don't recall hearing about UF's shut down D this year.

Let us all proceed with caution here. Remember the "Sam Bradford, he seems like he sucks" thread on a Horns message board; it taught us how silly one can look when rushing into judgment.

He was good enough for Urban Meyer, so he'll be good enough for Mack Brown.

Prudence has no place on a message board Albo!!

Who the hell is Teryl Austin and what high school did they recruit him from? Is he Mack's deadbeat brother in law by any chance?

Someone please post one of those "Meanwhile in Norman" pics in that thread on Shaggy. I want to see if they will start jumping out of windows.

Apparently Mack wants Norm Chow as his OC.

That's can't be based on how he did at UCLA; their offense has to be the worst in the Pac10. He seemed to do okay with 1st round draft picks at all the skill positions at 'SC though.

That would suck if they get him. We didn't do real well against that West Coast passing attack last time we played Chow!

I think Texas is slightly more talented than UCLA is right now. And they aren't really running a Norm Chow type offense. They basically switched to a Nevada offense.

I know but if you are Bob Stoops or Nick Saben or insert top coaches name here, and you were to choose to coach a roster right now you would take Texas' roster over UCLA's any day of the week.

Texas had a monumental collapse this year. But still their roster is stock full of guys that top coaches would love to have. And besides I still can't explain why Texas destroyed Nebraska. That game really wasn't even close. Nebraska couldn't run the ball on Texas at all. And everyone else with a QB run game ran all over Texas.

A 7 point win = destroyed? Nebraska had at least 2 easy TD pass drops. They should've at least tied the game if not win it. Your recollection of the game is different than mine.

Game was close. The difference in the game was two TD drops by Nebraska.

Did you actually watch the game? Nebraska really couldn't move the ball all game. They got a punt return for a TD, but outside of that Nebraska was horrible on offense.

After some time things tend to reach epic proportions. Like LSU destroyed OU, Florida blew OU, and Texas destroyed Nebraska.

Nebraska really couldn't move the ball all game.
Because they dropped balls. Which is a point everybody is conceding. However, not being able to move the ball, doesn't equal getting destroyed.
