Two sources told the Times-Union Saturday night that University of Texas defensive coordinator Will Muschamp, the school’s designated head-coach-in-waiting for Mack Brown, will be announced tonight as the next Florida head coach.
Muschamp, 39, who has been a successful coordinator at LSU and Auburn, will take over for Urban Meyer after the Gators complete their Outback Bowl game against Penn State on January 1.

The hiring of Muschamp would be considered a bold move for UF athletic director Jeremy Foley, whose selection of former Gator defensive coordinator Ron Zook in 2002 led to three mediocre seasons and Zook’s firing midway through the 2004 season.

it seemed way too early to name a coach in waiting anyway

it turned out crappy for FSU, and Bowden was way older than Mack

Didn't see that coming. What an offseason in Austin. They're gonna have to start from scratch.

Florida and Texas both just got worse. Muschamp was a good head defensive coordinator, but I don't know if he is ready to be head coach at Florida.

Bob Stoops and Oklahoma have dominated the Big 12 and Texas is getting weaker while Oklahoma has the best freshman class in Bob Stoops tenure.

A&M is getting better but they are coming to Norman next year for a beating. Yes, we will beat the horns and win the conference again next year.

No, no, no, and no. You have vastly underestimated the abilities of coach tebow. He will coach through (1) presence in the hearts and minds of the players and officials during the game, and (2) holding press conferences after losses and crying crocodile tears.
