That's not Stoop's house. It's actually a house Mack Brown bought for Greg Davis when he moves up here ;)

Good for coach and his wife building their dream house, well deserved, but that would be way too much house for me personally.

it's in a terrible location. crazy to put that much house where he did. a house like that deserves a 20 minute drive on gravel to nget to and shouldn't be visible from a paved road.

This. I don't get the location they chose, it seems way too accessible for idjits and the like but maybe they plan to erect a 32-foot wall around the property... who knows

that pond they dug out front is about 60 feet deep, maybe more

Do you know how far Gainesville is from the beach? Sure it's closer than Norman is but with his schedule he won't be driving a couple of hours to hang at the beach.

The palm trees, which can cost $100 a foot (height), is phase II, the beach is phase III.

What I don't get, is why they needed an indoor practice field.

Cedar Key, on the gulf, is about 1 1/4 hours - not much of a beach there. The atlantic has more to offer, and where most of the students go (went there with a lady friend one day) - about 1 1/2 hours.

BUT, Norman has the South Canadian Beach - just keep going south from Lloyd Noble. good times!!!!

Me either, or the faux Tuscan stuff that gets built around here, I design it but don't really like it. I can appreciate a Tudor style in the right context, like in a 300 year old home/castle but not a fan of it.

Be a tough house to sell someday. Very limited market for a 17k sq foot house anywhere let alone Norman.

To each his own, but I'd rather have The King's house and location, not even considering the fact that it's probably less than 20% the cost. Maybe he couldn't live in a house that accessible to nut cases, but I bet he'd be left alone, at least for the most part.

That thing is so beyond my reach I can't even comprehend considering building something like that. It is gorgeous to me. It doesn't necessarily keep him away from the nuts though. How many pokes will it take to mow that place?

There is a $39 million house starting construction down here and that is construction cost. The land was purchased separately and it was not a cheap piece of land at all, probably many millions on its own. Just one of many they own all over the world, some people just spend a ridiculous amount on houses.

It ain't Mack's house either....

Not sure if anyone else already mentioned this, but Stoops was upset because they were planning to develop the area around his house and I think he wanted it more off in the distance, away from development. Maybe he'll buy all of the surrounding land and plant a forest?
