Obviously Musberger has lost a step, but I've always like him. Not to mention that he has always been very positive towards OU when he calls our games.

I'd take him over Nantz any day.

i don't know if i agree with that (Muss positive about OU). Nantz is only mentioned for his ridiculous, over-wrought faux-poetics at the Masters.

As long as he bet on them.

He's so transparent when he calls games. You can tell who he bet on just by comparing the 1st down calls by the teams.

I especially liked him saying "Travis Loser" after his interception.

He is just about my least favorite announcer to ever call an OU Game.

At least in Nebraska, hatred of Musburger is something that is handed down generation to generation. It's as much of the fabric of Nebraska as corn and cattle are.

I'll always remember his calls during the 2000 season.

He sure sounded pro-NU for this last broadcast to me. Though I have thought in years past, especially back in the 80's while at CBS some of his calls were pro-OU. Perhaps he is just a bit of a frontrunner on the bit. And w/ NU coming out like a house a-fire in the first quarter maybe he couldn't help but be excited. NU winning the last Big XII championship probably would have been the better "story" from a broadcasting perspective.

Guys, he's pro everyone when whatever team is doing well. He sounded excited when Nebraska got up 17-0, but also sounded excited when OU came back to tie it up.

I've never minded Musburger.

Yes, the intro was cheesy but I'm betting Mushy isn't the one who wrote it.

He may not be exceptional, but at least I can stand to listen to Musberger. Most of them have me hitting the mute button in 5-10 minutes.

you understand he's paid to sound excited, regardless of what is actually going on, right?

I think he's actually improved over the years.

Wait. Maybe I'm not comparing him to himself.

musburger drinking game.... is that where you get drunky before calling a game on national TV as he does....

listen to him enough and you will realize his mistakes arent do to age, but to his alcohol induced stupor before the games.....

Prime example that he laid some cash on Nebraska...watch after Martinez's INT in the endzone. His first reaction was "you can't thrown that ball across your body". That's what I say when I'm watching and pulling for OU. Another announcer would have said "huge mistake by Martinez" and possibly later examined what the mistake was.

I love it. It's a fun game to play with my friends and see who can determine first who he played that game.
