I don't think Mangino does anything speedy

I kinda like the big guy, but go look at our 2001 offensive stats. The fans wanted Mangino run out of town on a rail when he took the KU job.

I wonder if people will be begging KW to come back after a few years?
Sooner fans could not wait to get Mangino to KU.

I can say right now I'd want KW back if the choice was KW or MM - I don't need a few years. But let's move forward...

MM taught Chuck Long that whole "up the middle" thing

This would literally be a step backward. OU coordinator to head coaching job back to to OU coordinator. Unless it's what he wants to do the rest of his career, bad career move.

Also, after what he was accused of at KU, wouldn't want him back unless he is a little bit less finger-pokey, homey-yelling type.

We want coaches on the way up the ladder, not on the way down.

I bet he can beat you to the dinner table and beat you eating his 15 course meal!

Doesn't "Dr. Evil" from Austin Powers have the number? ("He's a disgruntled Scottish guard known for his lethal temper and his unusual eating habits. He weighs a metric ton. His name: Fat Bastard.")

i want the best one for the job

just because they have been a head coach before doesn't mean they aren't as good as someone that might be a head coach one day

if someone is best at OC, then maybe they'd stay longer vs. leaving to be a HC somewhere

i do think Mangino was a little too successful at Kansas to get stuck as an OC somewhere though

It's because of what happened at KU is why he'd only be a candidate for a OC job. He needs to rehab his image before going for another HC job. IMO.

That being said, I hope its somewhere else.

Exactly! Don't think there is any way that Mangino would be hired back with the way he left Kansas. He was a powder keg here in Norman as observed when he attended Norman North football games when his son was playing.

I'm not sure there are any ladders out there that Mangino could either a) climb or b) that would hold him, LOL!~

Funny it wasn't a problem when he was taking him to a BCS Game. I don't think he is coming back but we could use some of the fire he brings to the sideline. Maybe in a smaller package though.

Mangino can coach, I would be happy to see him back in Norman.
