our oline stinks...
our runblocking has been trash the last 4 yrs even when all lineman were pros. no need for us not to be able to runblock
were good at passblocking but too many penalties in recent yrs.
i know yalll will hate on ths bc evryone hates on any negative post

we are not as bad as your making it seem. We had very little penalties and we have had over 1000yds rushing every year. In some cases 1500 or 2000+
If you see my thread about Another OU Jet in the Air, this makes perfect sense. Denver Johnson OL coach from CU

I don't think he has one left. Crick sliced it off as he was buzz-sawing through the line toward Landry on Saturday.
The best thing about Wilson leaving will be taking his buddy Patton along with him.
I could care less who he looks like. What do you guys know about him? Is he worth a chit? I mean, CU hasn't exactly been an offensive Juggernaut. I dont follow other team's coaches that much, so if anyone has insight on Mr. J, I'd appreciate hearing it. TIA

Has OL blocking improved or regressed under Patton?

Eh, all a false alarm! That's KW heading off recruiting his staff. It's an Indiana plane, not an OU plane.

well even though it does not appear we are interested in him. he coached OL at osu from 89-92 and they sucked hard, one of these was there famous 0-10-1 season I think

That name sounds really familiar. Wasn't he on staff at one point under Blake?
Edit: Yup, looks like 1996.

My cousin was a grad assistant on that staff.

I would love for OU to be able to bring Seth Littrell in as one of the replacements. Assuming just KW goes, Stoops promotes internally (most likely Novell to main OC and Heupel to one of the "game coordinator" positions), and we need a new TE/FB coach, Littrell would be an awesome get. He and Heupel were, IMO, the heart of the 2000 offense.

Thing is. we arent powerful at the line of scrimmage imho. i mean we have a loss this yr bc we couldnt get in from the 1 yd line 6 times. thats pretty painful. to me our run game plays off the passing game....would be better if its the other way around

Littrell already holds a Co-OC position at AZ. Doubt he takes a step down, especially after how much he has been talked up in the last couple of AZ games I've watched.

I don't think anybody coached the OL at OSU for many years. :D

Mark Helfrich for OC. I love Josh but I just don't see this being his time. Bring in Helfrich he'll be plucked for a HC position in two to three, and then give Josh the nod.

I'm curious.... why will Josh be anymore ready in 2-3 years than he is now?
Not being a smart a$$, Serious question. He's already served under Mangino, Leach, Wilson some of the better offensive minds in the game. Even served under Chuck 3rd and Long and learned how not to play the game.
If he's ever gonna be ready, wouldn't now be the time w/ a veteran QB who he's brought up, and an established OLine?

Heupel can handle it now. When in doubt, go with QB. He's a natural leader and play caller. No risk at all.

Ah, crap. I thought he was just TE/RB coach. Given that, you're correct.
