The team has clearly gotten better since those games and is playing some pretty good football though.

So are we. They keep pumping our game against Cincy to validate their chances against us. They are scared.

I was talking about us not them. Guess I should have made it clearer. Yea I also seen them pumping that game. I almost feel bad for them.

I honestly think we're going to take 'em to the wood shed

Its the same every year we play well down the stretch then comes this dreaded layoff. I think we'll be motivated this time though.

The goose egg by Louisville and the loss to Temple really jump out at me!

All I know is that if we lose this game, it will be the most embarrassing loss in OU history as far as I'm concerned.

When OU wins it'll silence some of the "can't win a BCS Bowl" critics. Not all of them.

OU didn't get to choose their opponent and shouldn't be criticized for playing UConn.

I watched that "so called game" between Uconn and WV. I wanted to stab my eyes out. Both teams were so bad it was embarassing for the BCS to think that one of them had a decent shot at the time to win the conference. Any Bowl eligible team in the Big 12 probably could have won that conference this year.

They are not heavy on talent but they do have 1600 yard rusher and a guy with a bunch of interceptions.

We should stomp them but it's not like they don't know how to play football.

Not sure I would go that far but it would be very tough to swallow.

I don't care how we win. Whether it's by 50 or 1. I just want a win.

I feel good, though, whoever the opponent. This team has some fight in 'em.

I want this team to go to Glendale motivated to win a football game and not motivated to shoplift a leather jacket.

Getting back the Hammer and using him as a DE makes a difference.

Getting back Austin Box to plug the middle makes a difference.

Getting Pryce Macon in for the injured Adrian Taylor makes a difference.

Getting experience for the corners and safeties makes a difference.

This is completely different defense that the beginning of the season. Heck... Beal didn't make even one of the 7 sacks last night. And Travis is no longer having the double-digit tackle nights he used to have the first three years of his career at OU.

Good defense finally gelling together with all of the parts healthy right now.

Enjoying the win... but then it's time to prep for UConn.

Yea, but he only had that many yards because they gave it to him 302 times. That is about the same as DM and Madu combined - oh and we played one more game than them. Their guy must at least be tough to still be walking after that many handoffs.

I also think we will have lots of good field position. They punt the ball for a whopping 34 yards per try (91st nationally).

Yes, we should beat UCon.......and we should do it convincingly.

But it is still a game played by 18 to 20 something year old young men and you never know what can happen.

I heard a lot of these same "we're gonna............them" statemenst before Boise and WV. I warned against that kind of attitude then and got told to be quiet. Those people don't say that any more.

Point is: you never know.

I think we beat them by 4 TDs.... but that is just me.

RB comparison:

Murray: 326 touches - 1716 total yards - 19 TDs (not including KO returns)
Todman: 320 touches - 1665 total yards - 14 TDs

Murray played against far superior defenses and had a nearly identical yards per touch rate (5.26 to 5.20).

Add in OU is a slight pass first team (48/52 run/pass) while UCONN relies on the run far more (60/40) and that gives a significant advantage to OU offensively.

but...but...we have an overrated RB and a crappy rushing offense to them.

.... Getting Pryce Macon in for the injured Adrian Taylor makes a difference.

When I saw Taylor limping around and still playing I thought the backup must be horrible.

Now that we've seen Macon play, I can NOT believe they left Taylor in the game. Macon was everywhere in the Nebbish game. He played awesome. Why would Venables leave Taylor in?

The difference between uconn and WV / Boise is that uconn sucks way more than they did. This is not the same situation.

Yeh.....well, we have all heard it before. Think about Kansas, Arkansas, TCU and a host of others. We also heard that Boise sucked.......BAD. They were small and slow.....yada, yada, yada.

UCONN is bigger than we are.....but undoubtedly we have better athletes. We should win. But if we go out and don't play.......we could get beaten. Anyone can always get beaten. That is reality.

exactly...the difference between WVU and Boise compared to UCONN is that...they were actually GOOD Boise was no slack and WVU was one win away from the MNC. Besides we just showed last night what happens to a run happy team.
