broyles has hinted at another season.

best hope is the the players assn and the league cant hammer out a deal over the spring and summer. i see a lot of juniors coming back if that happens to keep their draft stock from being overshadowed by next season's top college talent.

Lewis and Broyles. I am kind of hoping for a NFL lockout next season, but regardless, we will be in the championship game next year if we can stay healthy.

and then when you add our schedule to the mix.....

9/3 Tulsa (1,3)
9/17 at Florida State
9/24 Missouri
10/1 Ball State
10/8 vs Texas
10/15 at Kansas
10/22 Texas Tech
10/29 at Kansas State
11/5 Texas A&M
11/12 Iowa State
11/19 at Baylor
11/26 at Oklahoma State

Not a lot of potential losses on their prior to 11/26.....if we stay healthy.

Will the lockout be decided before the draft?

The NFLPA is talking like they need to save money because they won't be getting paid next year. I don't know how the draft works so there may still be a draft with a lock out. But you really can't sign those players.

That game against Texas seems like a trap game before our big road trip to Lawrence.

Are we allowed to look ahead to next season now? Last time this came up, we had to take it game at a time:P

The schedule looks pretty good for a championship run next year! That makes me even more excited for this team!

I agree with this, I'm worried Kansas may keep it within 40.

The draft would be the last action of the NFLPA, however just cause you get drafted the team has no hurry to negotiate a contract especially during a labor disagreement

I don't want to look ahead to next year when this year isn't over. I'm happy with our team this year.

The Florida State, Missouri, and OSU games are the ones that make me nervous. Florida State and Missouri are both good teams, and even though we get Mizzou at home, playing them that early kind of scares me. OSU is losing a lot of players from this year, but Stillwater is always scary. I like the look of next year, though!

Oh and by the way, I don't know if Travis is coming back, but I'm pretty sure Broyles will be. We've got plenty of strong linebackers to put into the starting lineup if Travis leaves though.

Yes, but are we *allowed*? I mean by the unwritten rules of SF.com? Will I be chastised and neg'd and stuff? I worry about these things.

Florida State, Texas, Baylor should all be tough games. That's not an easy schedule but we should be favored in just about every game.

Am I missing something or do you have us at Okie light for two years in a row?

Yep...a fluke due to the new Big 12(10) schedule...

This is an interesting speculation thread which I will give my full and undivided attention right after the Fiesta Bowl.

P.S. I like our schedule next year just like I like our chances. Some things in life just never really change very much when your a Sooner fan.

New schedule from realignment. Tech and ISU come here two years in a row. We're at Baylor and OSU two years in a row.

9 conference games changes things.

Hard to judge a schedule this early - need to see how the other teams come out of the gate. No one expected Mizzou and OSU to be as good as they turned out this season.

I wouldn't really say that with Missouri. I don't think anyone thought Texas would be that bad.

Ball State? The ennuendos on the board will be interesting.

I saw many pre-season picks having KSU be the only challenge to the Huskers. But yeah, the horns certainly highlights what I was saying :)

I did. I said they'd be undefeated going into Texas Tech...

They had a relatively easy schedule the way it set up. Played A&M, Neb, OU at home. Texas, Tech on the road. And as we found out, neither of those two were very good.
