I don't/can't eat during Sooner games. Unless they turn into blowouts. :)

But before the CCG, I think I'll have some hot links w/ some great bbq sauce my wife picked up in KC. Potato salad on the side. Diet Dr. Pepper to drink.

It will be a buffet!

Going to be watching the game at a Christmas party up in Tulsa.

My contribution to the food table is a side of salmon that I smoked yesterday.

Libations will be a cold Sam Adams or two, and vodka tonics.

I've been thinking about that . . .

Drove by the Death Star yesterday. Red, Hot, & Blue has closed. Prolly Humperdink's or Papasito's.

If your coming from the South, then Buck and Loon's is a good pre-game experience. Proprietor is a big NU guy.

Yep, Babe's is in my backyard. Frequent it often, as well as the other Roanoke Maint Street tables. Which for all of you headed North on Sunday, Downtown Roanoke would be a nice little stop for some chow. Twisted Root, Cowboy Chow, Brix Pizza, and Gerhard's German are all good spots. Off of Main Street try the Italian Bistro and Christina's.

Trying to find something close to the Stadium. Thought about Trail Dust, but that's just not workin'. May slide FW for some Railhead, Cooper's or Risky's.

Whoa, there's a Brix in Roanoke?? Love that place. Twisted root was overrated IMO. The burger I had was very pedestrian.

Babes is good about once a year when you're looking to eat a bunch of fried crap.

Amazing that 10 years ago, the Bud Ice/Chili's menu (they still make Ice Beer?) would have been a treat (over Taco Mayo and Icehouse), but now it makes me wince. I guess I've graduated from college tastes to old-guy tastes. The menu above sounds like the best thing you could eat for $25. Just depends what one means by cheap scotch, and how much is consumed.

Yeah, Brix opened about 3-4 mos. ago.

Honestly, most of the Roanonke downtown tables are a little over rated.

sweet ill have to take the wife there. the one down on Hulen is too far. Love the Brooklyn pizza, although the last time we ate there, it was not real good...

I figured theyre all a little overrated. its a cool little town feel though. and I think I might give Twisted Root another shot with maybe one of their more specialty burgers. I wasnt real hungry when I ate there and just got the plain cheeseburger. Im a sucker for bleu cheese bacon burgers (like at Dutch's or to a lesser extent, Fred's)

totally agreed. back when they first opened in Norman, my friend went to the bookstore and just took and entire box of those coupon books they gave out for free. one of the coupons was for a free chicken strip/fries/coleslaw/biscuit/soda meal there. He had over 300 of those damn coupons. I used them twice and decided it was barely even worth the drive over there to eat their crap chicken, despite it being completely free.

Rotel, chips, pizza and Whitetail Wheat, maybe some Sandbaggers Gold or Grizzly Wolf. Montana is the shizznits for micro brews! Beautiful, but cold with little league college football. But, world champion for Beer Drinking!!! He**, you can even bring the kiddies into the bar if you have some. Saw a lady with a beer changing a diaper at her table a few weeks ago! Now that's freedom!

If you're interested in good Arlington BBQ, visit David's BBQ on Park Row, between Fielder and Bowen. The proprietor, Jimmy Harris, is a descendant of the Bryan BBQ family. He's even got a picture of Sooner QB/Arlington Lamar grad Ben Sherrard on the wall.

Just finished listening to 50 middle school tuba and baritone All-Region auditions. Just waiting for the last of my students to be picked up so that I can go home and fix some beef and chicken fajitas with all the trimmings. During the game I'll probably drink a 12 pack of diet Dr. Pepper. I've got to be at 8:30 church service tomorrow morning so no beer for me. :(

I'm learning that after 25, the ability to drink without a hangover quickly diminishes. In college, I'd go out Friday night, get up Saturday morning and go for a run, no problem. Now, four beers and I have a headache all next day!

We gots homemade beef enchiladas smothered in my special queso sauce, with Spanish rice, refried beans, and for dessert, my triple-layer-made-from-scratch-double-fudge-chocolate cake.

Not very good for our arteries, luckily the Big XII only comes once a year!!!
