Well, it does take a poke to know a good sheep when he sees one.

If you've ever seen the 'King of the Hill' episode concerning this event you'd know that it is a big, big deal in the meat world. Basically ISU, OSU and TAMU just beat up on everybody in sight.

It's an eye-opener to talk with these folks about steak. The conversation can last hours....before they start talking about how to cook it.

misplacedsooner

So they are judged on how they judge?

That's freakin judgmental and should be eliminated from our education system immediately.

Not only are they not embarrassed, I guarantee there's a thread on OP right now about "Dem gooners jes jelous they ain't got no one who can stick a finger in a sheep and tell the breed of the last sheep it had sex with."

This is bull****! Why do they let OSU get away with this kind of stuff. OSU has the highest paid judges in all of the college judging! I hear they gave Clint Mefford a Troy Built Chipper Vac to come to OSU! Does the NCAA sanction this kind of stuff or will OSU be allowed to do whatever they want without punishment?

They won the Big 12 South, OU is only the South's representative to play in the Championship Game.

Check this out. If we beat Nebraska will OU be Big 12 Champs or just the Bowl Representative?

I just have a couple questions. Does no one really not know what livestock judging is, or is everyone just making fun of OSU? I thought everyone in Oklahoma and surrounding states livestock judged when they were in high school and FFA

CrimsonRez
12/4/2010, 02:55 PM
That's a common thought...however I had FFA at my school and I never NEVER EVER EVER made any contact with those people, let alone knew what they did. So no it is completely plausible that we don't know how you judge someone's judging.

overstating the obvious and oversimplification will not make your skool look better. Why embellish with the mantra of a university, something that a person with no degree can do, mmmm that pig looks fat, golden star for you chap.

A lot more to judging then, umm that pig looks fat. Every school appeals to some students more then others. We chose the ag way you chose the liberal arts way. To each his own is all I'm saying

OSU won the Big XII South? Then why weren't they in the Big XII Championship game? A three-way tie for first isn't much to brag about when there are only six teams. My favorite part is how he tried to hide "South". It says they were the conference champs...which is wrong.

You guys need to back off OSU and the sheep judging championship. They worked hard for this championship. Last time I drove by Stillwater, I saw three guys out there judging sheep over a barrel late into the night. Talk about dedicated to their sport. You don't see our teams working it that late do you? Those guys were really dedicated to learning the in's and out's of sheep.

1. Only what I learned from Napolean Dynamite.

2. Yes.

3. Seriously? You think FFA is big in Dallas or Houston? Or even Olahoma City or Tulsa? Hell, I lived in Iowa for 9 years and never set foot on a farm.

We know. It causes us no end of amusement.

In all seriousness, there's nothing wrong with agriculture. We all need to eat. But does "then I shut that gooner up by paying him for mowing my yard" or Does "Yardman U" ring any bells? Your school gives out degrees in landscape contracting. Give me a ****ing break.

Wow. I thought it was funny when I heard that some foreigners thought that modern Oklahoma was like western movies. I was semi-amused when I heard about people from other states thinking that we were all hicks and lived on farms. I really can't believe that someone who has lived in Oklahoma could think this.

No, we don't all ride around on horses shooting Indians.
