The fact that OSU is being left off of some lists is mind boggling.

Before Thanksgiving they are annoying, but after the game they are amusing enough to make up for it.

I just picture them as the literal little brother who is whaling away in the general direction of his big brother, all the while big brother is holding him away at arm's length and smirking.

The dull monotony of the same score alternating back and forth would have a depressing effect on their fans, as would losing at home every time they played. Finally that would put an end to any home winning streaks either team happened to start.

Well, their whiny-*** fans here in DC not only managed to get their precious craptastic high school JV team on the teevee Saturday night, because the change happened so late, the satellite signal of OU-OSU was blocked. So screw Notre Dame -- may they play losing seasons until the sun burns out. I hope their next teevee contract is on Versus (so NO ONE can see them). And I fully expect them to renege on their contract to play us home-and-home in a few years.

The only school I've hated recently was USC and that was only because I didn't think they were playing by the rules in recruiting. But now that they are being severely punished for it, we'll see if they play fair going forward. I see other teams as just coaches and players trying to do their best to win, just like us. Now if you want to talk about fan bases... different story.

1) LSU - my parents (around 70 at the time) attended the title game after the '03 season and were harassed by LSU fans. They were cursed at, spit on and had beer thrown on them *as they were leaving*. That's right - after LSU had won the game. I know the old story of a few bad apples, but there have been too many reports about that particular game to be just a few bad fans.

1. Texas - the facade of erudite superiority fleshed out in every team fan-dom is the main reason. More so than the team itself. Oh and the idea that they have never cheated despite the actual record to the contrary.

2. OSU - I try to like them. I try to be on their side in games not involving us, but then it happens. I wander over to their board and read non-stop 'gooner" bashing. Their desperate, almost insane hatred makes me dislike them and pity them.

3. ND - Ended the streak if for no other reason. Given a Heisman over the more deserving by far Sooner, and on and on. I know they are irrelevant now, but I rejoice in their irrelevancy.

Thats about it for me. I don't actually hate any of those three either, just don't care for them to varying degrees.

I tend to dislike programs as situations arise. Like Auburn right now. It's pretty obvious something untoward happened with Newton, and they are benefitting from it. So I dislike them currently.

Oregon with the bad ref call, and the thug that punched someone and was allowed back on the team.

So I save 4-10 for those type teams and they change almost weekly.

That may be true, but they have not been on my radar because
1) they don't own a weak conference like USC did for years
2) they are not a perennial top 5 BCS team due to the players they "recruited"
3) we haven't played them

If even some of what is rumored about Auburn turns out to be true, this could be a one and done season for them. Hard for me to care since OU was not in the title hunt this year, but I could see me hating them in the future :D

They're the same as VMI or the Citadel. All three schools commission about half their cadets as officers upon graduation. So half are playing soldier :)

And the corps is approx 4% of A&M, though it used to be 100% back in the day. Technically, we all have to be in the corp per our charter, but we regulars receive a waiver from the President.

I agree with the poster who said that ND is for the time being, irrelevant. However, another legitimate reason to hate them is the fact that Hornung won the 56 heisman with a 2-8 Notre Dame team. It will be the only time a winner will ever come from a losing team, and that could only happen at Notre Dame. Of the five regions, he only came in first in the Midwest.

According to SoonerStats.com, there are only five Div 1-A teams that we have a losing record against:

Miami: 3-4
Notre Dame: 1-8
Texas: 41-59-5
USC: 2-6-1

And.......................

Northwestern: 1-3

Whoever it was that put Northwestern in there earlier knew what they were talking about.

In case you're interested, we're 1-1 against LSU. We're also 1-1 against Arizona, Ohio State, Oregon State, San Diego State, Temple and Tennessee. Cal and West Virginia are the only other teams we're even with and those series are knotted at 2-2. We have a winning record against everybody else that we've played. This Fiesta Bowl matchup will be our first game against Connecticut.
