Congrats Beal!!!

I was guessing Von Miller the way he ended the season.

ESPN Insider: "The Sooners may be without their best pass rusher for the Big 12 title game."

Anybody know anything?

I didn't hear anything about it in Stoop's press conference.

It's kinda weird...seems like Beal has had a great season in a "quiet" way or something???? I don't know...maybe it's b/c he's getting doubled a lot...

I'm not sure Miller is a true DL. It'll be interesting to see who the Big XII defensive player of the year is.

It's a typo. They are talking about DeMarco.

8.5 sacks and leads the nation in TFL...he went a few games without notching any sacks and thats what a lot of people look at but he has had a buttload of TFL and tipped passes

Ya he is listed as a LB. I actually thought this was Big XII defensive player. Didn't realize they had a DL award.

Losing GK this year would've been much more painful if we hadn't had Beal. Dude's a beast in his own right, glad to see him recognized.

Today AP named him Big 12 Defensive Player of the year.

Oklahoma defensive end Jeremy Beal was voted the Big 12 defensive player of the year by the media, the Associated Press announced Wednesday.
Beal was tied for second in the league with nine sacks, and first with 18.5 tackles for loss. Beal is currently the NCAA active leader in career tackles for loss.
OSU wideout Justin Blackmon became the first receiver to win offensive player of the year after leading the nation with 1,665 yards receiving and 18 touchdown catches. He received 16 of the 20 votes from The Associated Press’ panel. OSU running back Kendall Hunter received three votes and quarterback Brandon Weeden got the other one.
Nebraska swept the honors for newcomers, with quarterback Taylor Martinez winning on offense and linebacker Lavonte David on defense.

BUT..Not a finalist for Ted Hendricks Award, given annually to college football's top defensive end...
The other finalists are:
Da'Quan Bowers, Clemson
Adrian Clayborn, Iowa
Ryan Kerrigan, Purdue
Jabaal Sheard, Pittsburgh
J.J. Watt, Wisconsin
Von Miller, Texas A&M

He's 13th in TFL's. He does lead the conference, though.
