Oklahoma's 47-41 victory Saturday night at Oklahoma State forced a three-way tie atop the Big 12 South Division standings, which meant one half of the conference championship game technically was not finalized until the Bowl Championship Series rankings were released roughly 21 hours later.

Why are voters suddenly rechecking TCU's resume just because the media darling Taters lost? If you thought TCU deserved to be ranked that high this week, don't be a wuss and drop them next week. All isn't perfectly right - this should have been for a slot in the BCS championship game. Then, all would be right in the world. That said, it's a cryin' shame that there wasn't more of the Battle of the Big Reds for the Big XII.

I agree - lumping BSU and TCU together is stupid. They are 2 different teams in different leagues. I saw on some blog that BSU's loss hurt TCU. Say what? A team ranked higher than you loses while you win and it hurts you? What planet is this?

I agree - lumping BSU and TCU together is stupid. They are 2 different teams in different leagues. I saw on some blog that BSU's loss hurt TCU. Say what? A team ranked higher than you loses while you win and it hurts you? What planet is this?

While in an individual way it looks pretty stupid. However, it's the stigma that non-AQ conferences have to deal with. The fact that Utah had to get lucky to beat a below average BYU even though it was a rivalry game doesn't help TCU. That being said, why would anyone listen to either Craig James or Rod Gilmore, they've both proven themselves over and over to be tools. Although to be fair to Gilmore, I think downgrading of TCU has more to do with the fact that once a Stanford Cardinal, always a Stanford Cardinal.

Gilmore is notorious for hating on the mighty TCU Horned Frogs because they field a vastly superior team than his alma mater, which dropped 2 games to the Horned Frogs in 2007 and 2008.
