We've been fortunate as Sooner faithful to watch many great athletes come through our program. Some are here for only a short time, but still leave a great impact. There aren't many that have a career like Demarco Murray though.

The announcers last night made a great point about him. He has been injured a lot, this we all know; yet he still managed to shatter the record books. This young man has played his heart out for his Sooners since he walked in the door. He has battled through injury and disappointment, missing big chunks of multiple seasons and missing the 2008 title game. But he's always battled back, and last night he was a HUGE part of why we won the game. Finch played well, there is no doubt. But Murray, along with a number of other players, put the team on his shoulders and ran like a champion. It was a pleasure to watch him fight for every yard, refusing to give up.

So thanks, Demarco Murray, after your final regular season game, for your great effort and dedication to OU football. The other great members of our program's past will welcome you with open arms. You are a competitor.

Here's a link to highlights from his excellent career:

I just hope he gets to take part in the post season. Nobody is as deserving, except maybe Beal, Box, or Broyles.

One thing that I was thinking about DM last night was his one intangible that he seems to have, he has a nose for the yellow line. I wish there was a stat that followed how many first downs a particular player gained. He must have gotten at least a dozen last night. I know its a RBs job to pick up conversions, but Demarco just seems to get there and beyond...

So no official news on his knee yet? He seemed to be walking around fine after the game.

I am impressed with his yardage after the first hit. He doesn't stop, but seem able to pick up the extra yardage, while he is dragging the defenders across the yellow line.

Outstanding post, btb916.

DeMarco is a true warrior and an all-time great Sooner.

He will be missed next year.

The dude is a warrior and gives his heart, soul and body. Watching him chase down their linebacker after the interception, just shows his commitment to playing all out.

He was awesome last night. Just totally battled for a couple first downs that he had no business in getting.

Im afraid we'll never see him in a Sooner uniform again....

Murray's a stud. Too bad his career has been shortened so much by injuries.

DM picked up 11 first downs last night.

Kendall Hunter picked up 3.

And that may have been the difference in the ball game.

Demarco Murray is the BAD *** MOTHER ****ING STUD WITH A DONKEY DICK since he walked onto campus. I'm going to miss him. He is a real Sooner, plays for the team, works for the team, gives his body for the team, and has a big heart.

There is only one Oklahoma but sadly there can't be more than one Demarco Murray. I love this guy and I hate to see him go. I really want to see him do well in the NFL. He deserves it more than most.

Off topic here, but the bar at the bottom of the video is thicker (the gray part with nothing in it) than it is on one of my tv's. Anyone else notice that? Is it just overscanned and left off a lot of tv's?
