Played LB at KSU with the AD. This may be the type of job he has been waiting on. So much talent down there.

Wow, they fly banners down there too. Figures, another d-bag fanbase...

If only Mike Stoops would get sick of frying eggs on the sidewalk....

Wait, that happens here too.

The Mike Leach angle is intriguing, close to his new home in Key West. He could submarine to work.

Why wouldn't Miami look at Holgerson?

Miami screwed up. And I think it's funny. :D Randy Shannon was doing a great job and he's a helluva recruiter. He was really close to getting that thing going again.

Their jack-*** fan base doesn't deserve a guy like Venables.
Can you imagine how many points leach would score with the talent Miami can get?!? Wow!

Randy Shannon sucks as a coach. He has more than enough talent there to win RIGHT NOW. Good person, bad coach.

More importantly to me, he has cleaned the program up.
Obviously, wins are more important than a clean program.

I don't know if I'd say Bad, when he got there, that place was in shambles. Terrible terrible shambles. THANK YOU Larry!!! :D :D

Leach would be intriguing. I'm not sure they go after another former LB/ D coord type for a HC.

^This. Like TAMU and TT firing the best person that fits their program, Shannon was the person for UM and he was not doing bad. They were bare when he came in and they had some bad luck this year. May they fail epically.

Nobody deserves having to Coach there IMO.

Talk about an unsterile, "crap I stepped on gum!", crappy place to Coach. phlorida is a great place to retire and even visit.....but to have to live down there and put up with the idiots...I'm not sure :mack: money would be worth it.

Hmm... short list of potential candidates. Venables... don't jump ship just yet. Don't pull a Mike Stoops and leave us hanging.

God bless Gary Gibbs.

Dealt a really bad deck and righted the ship when the NCAA was Sooner hunting with that death penalty crap.

I for one don't want BV leaving.

It's strange. When we lose it's, "Now you know why he'll never be a head coach, we'll be stuck with him." And now it's like, "We want him to stay." My how a couple of wins change peoples perception of the coordinators.

Did you know Shannon played at Miami during the 80s?

I just ask that. . .because it is mentioned every single time he is talked about.

"Now we go live to Miami to talk to the head coach of the Hurricanes, Randy Shannon, who played at Miami during the 80s."

No I didn't know that. But I bet you didn't know that Weeden played professional baseball or that Colt Mccoy and Jordan Shipley were roommates who like to go fishing together. :D

maybe they have someone in mind if they fired Shannon. seems like a bad idea to me...

works for me though. i hope they lose forever.

unlike Texas and OSU, it doesn't help us at all if they are good :D

and the fact he was 16-16 in acc play over 4 years with no division titles didn't help either

Not possible. The critics right here on SF.com know so much more than anyone else, and they've already determined that Venables is incompetent. Forget it.
