gotta give the edge to DM tonight, especially because of his receiving.

Didn't he also nab a bunch of first-downs?

I would also add:

Advantage: KW
Advantage: BV

Critical conversions. Don't remember when it happened, but on one 3rd down, DM got hit by 2 guys more than a yard short of the line to make. He would not be denied - his best carry of the night, IMO.

I know your first post was purely statistical, but it really highlights how statistics don't tell the entire story. Murray had so much more impact on the football game than Hunter did it was unreal. Yet their stats were similar and nothing to look twice at.

I'll also say that 2 of LJ's picks should be fixable in 1 meeting with Heupel. Both the sideline INTs looked like LJ was trying to use the legal "throw-away outside the box" rule. Certainly the volleyball INT was that case. I wouldn't be surprised if the next throw-away by LJ makes the stands.

That's what I'm saying. Let's see if the fans in the first few rows can catch...

DM was pure money last night. It's almost like he and the first down marker are magnets. We need him against Nebraska.

Our D held that high powered offense to 27 points on the road

Our D looks a lot more physical upfront with Box and R. Lewis on the field now. Running backs are getting pushed backwards after the first hit.

Only ankle injury I've seen that allows you to run fast and make cuts but barely be able to walk. :D

The difference though is that our play makers went beyond triplets, thanks to Kenney, Hannah, Stills and Finch.

He seemed to come out of the game after every route that had a cut, his straight line speed didn't seem to be as affected as his cutting ability. Having tweaked an ankle a few times I was always more affected to a change of direction inducing that twinge of pain rather than just normal forward movement. They never did throw him a ball in a pure jump ball situation like they normally do.

It was a pretty gutty performance by Blackmon.

If you watched, after every catch he just dropped pretty much. He had no ability to push off

He had to sit out lots plays due to the pain - gutty performance indeed. You could tell from OUr players and coaches talking to Blackmon after the game there was a lot of respect there.

Thanks for looking that up - about where I would have guessed. I was really worried the Pokes would pull out the win when DM got injured because his clutch play had been such a huge factor.
