...finding out four days before your first final that your laptop is not, in fact, waterproof.

That was a fun morning/early afternoon.

Oh wow that is terrible!

Now is the time of year when I bolt out of bed scared to death I am missing one of my finals, will get kicked out of school and end up living under a bridge.

The drinking helps...

Yeah, it was backed up and I have the new laptop up and running with everything transferred over just fine.

wayne: even worse, I had three outlines that weren't printed out. Fortunately, they were backed up, but I had a moment of panic when I thought Federal Jurisdiction (269 pages) Contracts (82 pages) and Secured Transactions (110 pages) were lost...

Yeah I lost a fifteen pager after I got my laptop stolen the night before that paper was due. Was quite upset. Fortunately I got an extension.

No, I'm in my second year of law school. Is it relevant?

You know, oddly enough, Cam Newton was in town yesterday and I now have a new laptop.

Hmmm.

You said it was your first final and I thought you seemed older than a true frosh

Ahh gotcha. Yeah, that was unclear. Sorry. First final of my second year. And I'm a non-traditional law student-I'm 36.

(Apologize for being testy. I'm $2400 poorer than I was at the beginning of the day and spent valuable study time on retrieving stuff. Not your fault.)

I could have saved you the trouble and told you it wasn't waterproof.

Check with me next time. :D

In case you were going to experiment, grape fitness water in the keyboard does very bad things.

I poured half of a venti latte through an HP tablet. It worked fine after it dried out. A few of the keys were sticky but it worked out over time.

Still use that tablet. The coffee spill happened over 2 years ago.
