View Full Version : 10,000 Empty seats for Bedlam...really?

Shiznitttt
11/27/2010, 03:40 PM
Nov. 27--For Saturday's Bedlam football game, Oklahoma State allotted 5,000 tickets to the University of Oklahoma. Those tickets were priced at $125. Reportedly, it's the most expensive single-game ticket in college football this season. For Oklahoma State fans, admittance is reserved for season-ticket holders.

As of this week, OSU's season-ticket sales total was slightly less than 43,000. The Boone Pickens Stadium capacity is 60,218, resulting in the likelihood of about 10,000 empty seats for Bedlam.

OSU will sell season tickets Saturday at the south and north side box offices at Boone Pickens Stadium beginning at 1 p.m.

For fans who wish to purchase from the university instead of doing business with a ticket website, here are Bedlam options:

--A few tickets, priced at $384 apiece, remain for seats in the west end zone. Also available is a four-ticket, $1,200 package in the west end.

--There are 50 season-ticket seats that require no donor fee, at $479 each.

--And there are season-ticket seats in prime locations, also priced at $479 but requiring donations from $100 to $1,500 per seat.

If this is true OSU has a ****ing retard running the ticket sales in Stillwater.

Don't count on it. I know that if I was stupid enough to go and buy a season ticket on the last day of the season just to get in that place, and then found out that they had altered the policy and sold single game tickets at face value, there would be he!! to pay! Besides, if I remember correcctly, they had this same policy in place the last time we played up there and didn't have the place full for the game.

The University of stoolwater shouldn't be allowed to sell opposing fans tickets priced more than their own fans. Dispicable. If true...I think OU should send them 5000 next year priced at 10,000 dollars a piece.

Maybe T. Boone will pony up the hedge fund futures to buy out the remaining season tickets so they can give them away before the game. I think they did something like this in the past.

I think I heard this suggested before...

Why don't the pokes arrange some sort of non-transferable deal with Ft. Sill and Vance AFB so servicemen could have a game to go to? Have them pony up maybe $20 each if money is such a big deal.

It would be good for the troops and it would fill the stadium. :)

If they can't stand us...they should leave with Nebraska and Colorado. At least they were smart enough to know when they were screwed. Nobody likes getting beat like a drum by us 80-100% of the time....yet aggie continues to whine and scratch and claw for a once in a decade win that will sell orange bumper stickers.

Their season ticket prices are higher than OU's as well. This should be against Big 12 rules the way they are handling tickets by selling season tickets at the end of the season.

No matter how many games they win in a year, they will always be a second rate university when you handle ticket sales like this. Absolutely zero class as they will do anything to keep OU from having more than 5,000 people in the stands.

They have proved once again with their actions they don't belong as a major Division I program. Never heard of such nonsense out of another Div I school. They may have changed their name but they will always be Aggies IMO and that is not a compliment.
