I know we were way ahead but that really worries me for next week. It will be on the road. OSU is playing very well and welllllll OU doesn't appear to have any 4th qtr steam.

We had the J.V. in during the 4th quarter. We scored with our second team QB and you know bob doesn't like running up the score unless your name is aggy

Dude, they were up by 30+ points. It's hard to keep players super motivated when you are up by that many points.

Can't belive I'm even going to comment on this.... We half a hundred on them and OUr defense held them in check all game. Can't belive somebody could walk away from this great performance on the road and find something negative about the way OUr boys played.

while it hard to come away with any negatives, when you put the backup QB in the game, you should allow him to throw the ball. they can have one up us turn around and hand off to a back for a quarter. also, how about getting the backup OL to do something other than run block.

baylor is a Big12 team, and a Div. 1 competitor. If the opposing staff can't grasp getting QUALITY reps for backups, then maybe they should forfeit.... OR PLAY BETTER!!!!!

When the holder is getting snaps at QB, it's time to stop complaining about how we played.

That was the year when everyone accused OU of running up the score. If you go back and loook at the scores of those games by quarter, you will find that the vast majority of those points were scored in the first half - unless we were in a shootout type of game (oSu) or in a position where we needed to impress the media in order to make our way into the Title game.

The Baylor first team outscored the OU backups....not worried about the fourth quarter performance in this game.

After the way some of the Baylor players acted with some going all "Johnny Jolly" after some plays I wanted OU to drop 85 on them. I did like that Briles chewed out those players (including Griffin) after they got to the sideline. When you are having your rear handed to you just take your kicking and get off the field.

I was wondering why Griffin would even think about taunting our sideline after their third quarter score. They were still down by 40 or so at that point. I thought he deserved a flag after that but glad the coach told him to stfu.

I suppose this has nothing at all to do with our backups playing against their starters. I'm sure it's all coaching.

Landry and Finch are, yes. As much trouble as LJ has had on the road, you don't think he needs all the good experience he can get before playing 2 or 3 big games away from home?

I kinda agree with you, but I'm more worried about Box. Any info on either? DM7 ran like a mad man against the bad news bears, so I think we can get by with him, and spell hime with Clay and Butterfingers Madu if needed.

Not just this game. Name me the last time OU had a decent 4th quarter this year. Anyone? Outscored 95-31 in the fourth qtr barely saved 3 wins and lost 2 in the FOURTH qtr. Why bitch at ME about that?

SoonerAtKU
11/23/2010, 05:38 PM
Because you're the one bitching about late-game performance in a blowout win. Bitch about the performance in the close games or in the losses if you want, but if you're doing it this week, it rings hollow.

BoulderSooner79
11/23/2010, 05:59 PM
I don't understand why looking at a late game performance in a blow-out win is such a touchy subject. I would think it would be light hearted at worst - I mean, we won BIG. I think there is some meat here; I'm speculated the reason the starters were left in for so long was the coaches wanted to see some sharper execution late in the game. It didn't happen (at least on offense). Water under the bridge now - get to try again on Sat. with more on the line...

Go back and look again the 1st defense was in until the very end of the game. This was even mentioned in an article in the DOK. Not that it matters(in this game) but we do not play well in the 4th quarter on defense.

Idk if this will be better for the osu game, but I think the fact that we were up by 40 maybe had something to do with it. Not really an excuse, but it's harder to motivate players when you've already gone and kick the **** out of the other team.
