The Red River Rivalry has been a monster rivalry game for several reasons — not the least of which is that it often decides who will represent the South division in the Big 12 Championship game, with that winner getting an automatic BCS Bowl berth. How important is this game? In the last seven years, the winner of the Red River Rivalry has played in five BCS title games, with Nebraska being the only other Big 12 team to play (in 2002) for the BCS title. The last two games have been decided by eight or less points, and in 2005, No. 1 Oklahoma beat No. 5 Texas in a 45-35 thriller. Sure the Big 12 champ hasn't performed well in past BCS title games, but that doesn’t mean this series still doesn't bring it to the table. It does. Grade: A

Apparently 45-35 was a lie. It actually happened in 2005 and we won hahaha.

Mack should go coach CU then he can blame the losses on the "Thin Air"...

Anyone else flip thru the pictures to see the author's choices for biggest rivalries? I suppose they may be speaking about 2010 specifically:
#1 Auburn/Alabama-
#2 Utah/BYU
#3 OU Texas
#4 Oregon/Oregon St.
#5 Miami/FSU
#6 Clemson/S Carolina
#7 Stan(d)ford/Cal
#8 Ohio State/Michigan
#9 Florida/Georgia
#10 USC/UCLA

Does the Utah/BYU thing look out of place? He really didn't make his case very well talking about the Poinsettia Bowl and Las Vegas Bowl.

Why mention the Poinsetta Bowl and not the Sugar Bowl (Utah 2008/09) nor the Fiesta Bowl (Utah 2004/05)? Is it #2??, I dunno, but it will continue after Utah goes to the Pac-12 and disappointed BYU picks up their ball from the MWC and goes Independent.

He must be from that state of Utah.

That's the one reason I can think of for him putting that there. Probably graduated from one of those schools.

That article is full of fail. It's amazing how many mistakes can be crammed into approximately 100 words.

BYU-Utah bigger than OU-Texas ? Yeah right ! During the 60's thru 80's there was never any doubt in my mind which was the top college rivalry. The intensity, atmosphere, hard-hitting, and pure hatred was unmatched. No doubt.

FOX NEWS? FOX SPORTS?

I think they should just call it FOX. They got no reason to think they are journalistic.

FOX NEWS? FOX SPORTS?

I think they should just call it FOX. They got no reason to think they are journalistic.

Because they always have reporters making up the story (no wait, that was the NYT). Well, then, they manage to lead with forged documents about national guard ... no, wait, that was CBS.

You know what, your pretty silly IMO to just blindly trust any of them. You can pick apart any of them on that "journalistic integrity" argument.
