And I really like what I've seen out of Neal the past couple games. That guy is going to be pretty dang good for us. He was the only one of the newbies that could even keep up with their athleticism.

no he actually had 0. i think he just couldnt match the aggressiveness maybe? not sure really.. mike scott had half their rebounds. & im surprised that they only out rebounded us by 2.. seemed like so much more.. tyler neal lead us in rebounding with 6...... not sure how i feel about that. white boy does have hops tho! he was fun to watch

Wow. This is just like watching the seventh-place game of a mid-season high school tournament. It's played early in the day, the teams aren't very good and there's almost nobody there.

And it even looks like a high school gym.

It sounds like an empty gym too. Midway through the first half Capel called a timeout and you could hear his voice echo as he yelled "Get over here!" to the team.

I've said it before, we're just not a good basketball team. I've come to terms with this fact and decided I'm simply going to have fun rooting for them. Cade Davis is on the bench for a Final Four type team and yet he's our lifeblood. So be it.

We will lose a lot of games but I'm still going to watch and cheer. It's sort of like not being able to complain about politicians if you don't vote. You shouldn't be able to complain (or cheer) if you give up on the team when they're bad.

How can Chaminade recruit an athletic 7 footer who shoots 100% from the free throw line and we can't? I know it's Hawaii, but it hasn't been too long ago they were an NAIA school.

Exactly, Davis should be a 6th man, not a leading scorer or the guy taking the biggest shots. He gives it his all though.

I do not follow basketball recruiting. How many of these guys were target players that we worked to get and how many were last-minute signees because of what happened at the end of last season?

After Kentucky, I was impressed with this team's effort. I still am.
I do not see a lack of effort from this team (like last year), but I do see a supreme lack of talent. Unfortunately, that will only get worse as the season progresses.
If this team can finish .500, Capel should be coach of the year.

I see a basic lack of X's and O's that is pretty disturbing.

I am already tired of hearing about how they have "started to recruit a different kind of kid and they are checking every aspect of a recruit's character." That is recruiting 101. What in the hell were you doing before? I don't care how talented a kid is, you check with everyone who has ever known him before giving him a scholarship. You shouldn't be given a do over because you were a moron the first go around. Although it would be a bad one, I hope it is only the marketing response they have chosen to go with over being the actual truth.
