The Sooners close out their season-opening homestand tonight against the Texas Southern Tigers. Coming off a come-from-behind OT win over North Carolina Central, the Sooners enter the game with a 2-0 record on the season and are looking to run the tally to 3-0 before leaving for the Maui Invitational this weekend. Tip is set for 7:07 p.m. and can be seen or heard on the Sooner Sports Network and via SoonerSports.com. For more information and tickets, click here (http://www.soonersports.com/sports/m-baskbl/archive/01_gameday_central.html).

And now, a personal entreaty. If you're in the area and able, please come out to the LNC tonight. This is a young, exciting team that loves playing hard and playing as a team. I know last year's trainwreck left a bad taste in everyone's mouth, but this team is EXACTLY the opposite. No, they're not as talented overall as last year's squad, but if the two teams played this team would beat last year's bunch 9 times out of 10. But they need your help. The Lloyd Noble Center used to be one of the toughest places for road teams to win for years, but as we saw Monday night anyone can walk into an empty arena and almost steal a win. So please, put aside your bitterness from last year and come help this team rebuild Sooner basketball to the level it once was.

agreed on the team. very likeable team. Nick Thompson is one hell of a passer. Cameron Clark is super exciting to watch and really athletic. Fitz has obviously put ALOT of work in this offseason and he is the go-to guy inside. Newell is a really quick slasher.

all that said, this team is alot more enjoyable to watch overall. TMG had some moments last year, but overall, that team just didnt look like they were having any fun. This team looks like the exact opposite and everyone seems content to make the extra pass.

I live in DFW so I cant make the game, but Ill definitely be watching tonight. is it a free webcast like Coppin St? or is it ESPN3? I prefer ESPN3. much better quality, especially the audio. the soonersports webcast always blares the band out of one speaker and BBS is in the other speaker. weird

Yep, it's available on ESPN3 and Full Court. And the SoonerSports.com webcasts are premium content from here on out.

Did anyone else hear him say after Cade hit yet another 3 something about him eating out a lot?

In any event, good win :)

PS: You can apparently pause FF/Rewind on Xbox, as a few of our friends in the party were pausing and rewinding around the 5:10 mark where the camera guy got hit by the basketball below the belt

Good win, shot the ball MUCH better, but way to many turnovers. Shouldn't have 20 turnovers against a team of this caliber. Good rebounding stats too.

Got a couple days off, then off to Hawaii. We will see where we really stand come Monday vs Kentucky.

Nice to see us find our shot again for sure, especially Cade. He was knocking down those trade-mark moonshots of his for the first time in a while. Hopefully that will give him some confidence and it will be a more regular occurrance. I know I've been very critical of him for his poor shooting in the past.

Still liking that our Opp. FG% is once again lowered in the 2nd half, and it was already pretty low in the 1st half to begin with. Need to limit the turnovers though...thankfully they didn't cost us too much this game. Won the rebounding battle and dominated in 2nd chance points. Perfect on FTs in the 2nd half. Nice production from the bench too. Blair with 5 assists in 9 minutes. Neal with 9 points in 8 minutes.

Great win. Keep it up, Sooners!

Some really young mistakes and some miss-communications, but that was a heck of a fun game to watch! I loved what I saw from Washington and Neal. Those guys are going to be studs pretty soon. Good man-to-man D and good awareness in their matchup zone. I'm constantly surprised by how this team does not look like they're all n00bs.

I still think we do crappy in conference, but with games like this in our capabilities we could easily surprise someone at home. Exciting!

btw - kudos to whichever Capel-ble (sp?) was wearing the white wig. I lol'd when Tyler Neal gave him a high five after the game. Next game, dye that wig brown and go to the game as Tyler Neal's twin :D
