the cops came to my house earlier, claiming that my dog had chased someone on a bike. I said "**** off, my dog doesn't have a bike!"

It's because they're not required to have a degree in order to be a cop. We'd see better-quality police, and more well-run precincts/districts, etc... not to mention better community relations due to their having perhaps learned to deal with adults while in college, as opposed to staying around your high school hometown, partying like morons for a decade or so, (in the minor leagues, by the way; college is triple-a, and tending bar for a living in a major city/college town is the majors) then waking up and saying, "Hay, let's be da law so we don't git in trubble." Yep. In my home town all the cops are guys that flunked out of junior college where they didn't even pass their criminal justice 101 class.
