Sergeant Sal Guinda of the 173rd Airborne, for bravery during action in October 2007, Korengal Valley, Afghanistan.

Documented in a movie called: Restrepo, premiering on the National Geographic Channel on November 29th.

I just watched the movie On Demand and frankly I am pretty emotional, fired-up, pissed off and yet full of admiration for our troopers.

Here is the link to the movie website, as well as a 14 minute film about the MOH firefight and SGT Guinda.

Regardless of your politics this movie is a must-see, if only to experience what it is really like for the Soldier, day-to-day, for 15 months.

Proud of our guys.

Yes, my point was that a deployment is 15 months. It states in the clip that SGT Guinda's company is back there again, right now.

One thing that surprised me while watching the film is how beautiful that valley in Afghanistan is...simply breathtaking.
