I am taking my boy and wife to their first OU game, as Waco isn't that far for me. The stadium info is confusing. Does any body know what sections of the stadium are more visitor friendly? I don't mind a little home team razzing, but I will have my young son with me. I would like to make his experience a good one. Can anyone give me the lowdown on the best section(s) to to sit in as a visitor? There are still alot of good tickets available.

I've never been razzed down there...Of course any time I've been there, BU didn't stand a chance and their fans knew it

They do this year but I would expect to be treated well by their fan base.

This^ There is normally more OU fans than Baylor fans and we are normally expected to win, so this is a non issue. We'll see this year if their fans show up for the game or if they decide that their recent success means they can talk ****.

Baylor info:

1- The stadium is off campus.
So, if you go to Baylor University expecting to see the Sooners play football, you might get disappointed.

2- There are beer thieves.
In possibly the greatest thread on Baylorfans.com ever, a beer thief is outed. Alas, you will have to go to this site (http://sportsbybrooks.com/baylor-u-tailgate-beer-thief-caught-in-the-act-26157) (or our fark forum (http://www.soonerfans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=134690&highlight=baylor+beer)) to see anything about this, because apparently wanting to go to grad school saves you public humiliation.

3- You will have leg room.
It's a small stadium, sure, but there usually aren't fans to fill it. Waco is your best and cheapest opportunity out there to see Big 12 football. It is a very good road trip, regardless of what type of college town you consider Waco.

That's all I've got.

Their stadium was as full as I can remember it ever being last Saturday. Granted, it was A&M, but still it was pretty full. If they had beaten A&M, I think it would be full again this week. With the loss, it probably won't fill up.
If you are buying from the ticket office, just tell them you want tickets on the visitors side. Usually, the south half of the east side are OU fans. (All the way from the 50 to the endzone). It seems like the south end of the west side always had a lot of OU fans, too. But the SE area is where all the Sooners will be.

Methinks Aggies took advantage of getting cheaper-than-home tickets to see their team on the road.

I have taken my son to Baylor games since he was 3 and he is 17 now. Never a problem. Don't worry where your tickets are......Baylor people arent going to haze a soonerfan with a kid. Won't happen.

Never been to their stadium although I used to live near Waco when I was younger. My friends went to a Baylor/KSU game and said their stadium is like a HS stadium.

A&M is their big rivalry. There will be tons of empty seats for OU. Just be careful in the bathrooms lots of closet Baptist men that like to look at penis hanging around.

2 Things:

First...TXBOOMER...NOT funny! On the off chance you do see something like this, be sure to give a holler so we can all help you beat his a$$.

And secondly....

Really enjoyed last year's game in Norman. Treated fantastic by all. Pre-game tailgating area was a lot of fun. Only ever remember the Nebraska fans treating the road team fans as well.

Hope and fully expect that you Sooners will be treated well at our house. I've only ever seen one Baylor fan smart off to an opposing fan (student being obnoxious to a couple of young UT ladies sitting on the Home side). Some of us stood up, but before we could get to him, his brother punched him...spun him around....took him by the collar...and 'escorted' him to the tunnel as everyone applauded and apologized for him.

Granted, I don't sit on the visitors side but I would expect no problems there either.

Tailgating pre-game is getting better. Most of the spots are northeast through northwest of the stadium. BIG Baylor tailgating area (for us, anyway) just on the northeast corner of the stadium. Plenty of food and drink and everyone makes a point that ALL are welcome. Please plan on stopping by to share a beverage and some good-natured football talk.

You guys drive safe and we're looking forward to seeing you Saturday.

Waco is great, I just cancelled my hotel reservation at the Hampton Inn as I am in Japan. You may get it.

Easy parking at the stadium, people friendly. You will likely have to call the BU Athletic office to get tix on the visitors side, but I have never had tix worse than the 30-yard line. Don't get tix thru OU that are usually worse. Good place. Except for tossing the guy who marched around with the Lee Corso likes men poster a couple of years back...;)

In past years you could show up the day of the game and get pretty cheap tickets ($20 or less). Didn't matter where they were located - you can move around pretty easily, and the stadium wasn't full enough for people to care where you sat.

Oh, when I went up to the game in 2006, I stuck around afterwards and got to see the players getting on the bus. A bunch of fans hang out there - bring a pen and you could probably get some of the players to sign autographs for your son.

And don't try to sneak any intoxicating beverages into the stadium. Right Dean? ;)

Go over to the north side of the stadium before the game and they lower chain fences down where the players walk from the locker room to the field. Your son can get up close to the players.

This will be our fourth trip to Waco for the game. The OU sections usually fill up nicely - Q, R, S. Parking next to the stadium is $10/vehicle - we get a couple of extra spots for tailgating.
The freshman rush for seats is interesting. And your son will enjoy the blow up bear doing the Baylor Bounce.
They let my son take in his OU flag a couple of years ago - he made the front page of soonersports.com :)

We are once again getting ready for the game on Sat. This will be our 5th visit to Baylor. Our son was less than a year old and we took him to his 1st OU football game @ Baylor. This year we are in Section Q on the 50 yrd line about midway up on the visitor side. The stadium offers good views from just about any seat, the fans are GOOD people and always have treated us with respect. The tailgate to the east of the stadium is always fun and parking is about $10 up to a couple of blocks from the stadium. Have fun and drive safe my fellow Sooners!
