Played the second series (3 and out) and part of the last series (2-3 plays) before Box got put back in!

So not hurt, but not his usual game time so far....

Box needs reps that's why he's in the majority of the time.

AYe... looks like we can score at Will so i expect this to stay the same with Box in most the time, and then Im guessing if we keep scoring, Nelson will get some more PT!

Trotter said it was some sort of eye issue.

He scratched his eye in practice a few days ago, guess being up 3/4 scores helps aswell, rest it up for the big 2 away games!

Has made 3/4 good tackles... but has missed many more, esp in this last series, has been in a position the last 3 plays and missed them all!

Not a quick as Wort either sideline to sideline!

Not an objective analysis.

We played our best defense today of the entire season with Wort out. I'm not saying it was because Wort was out. Everyone stepped including Box who played well enough that defense didn't get gashed the way they have in the past.

Box pisses all over your evaluation of his play.

Its ok, ill back it all up if I get a copy of the game! I still saw us get gashed up the middle on more than a couple of plays for 30 odd yards! Now Im not calling any of the players out for that, I still find it mad that often we only have 1 LB lined up inbetween the tackles, and 1 usually outside the tackles, always leaves the middle soft, esp with only 2 LB's.

And for the record, the best D performance of the year was vs Iowa State, both in points allowed and yards allowed, by quite a margin. So I **** all over your evaluation....! And yes, Iowa State also beat Texas Tech badly aswell.........shows how bad TT are!

I saw Wort tackle a guard while the RB ran past him. Seriously, I think he loses track of the ball carrier sometimes. It was really noticeable in the AFA game.

Box 7 tackles
Wort 0

More importantly..disciplined gap integrity expected from a OU MLB. It's a damn shame Austin has been injured. Tom will be okay but Austin was going to be the starter for obvious reasons.

I thought Box played very well last night... seemed to plug the middle pretty well. Needed that sorely and even more so with Adrian Taylor out for the year.

The year  well good luck to him. The other d-linemen stepped up big too. Macon,McFarland, and Lewis played well.

Bob seemed pretty happy about some of the QB sacks we got yesterday. Looks like BV in 2011.

I'll withhold judgment until I see what JKM thinks of Box's play.

I'm hoping pics are included.

(this is NP, I'm too lazy to log baj out)

Box allowed the first big play that set up their only score, AND knocked the only other player that could have made a play out of the way. He's out of practice in tackling as well. Most of their bigger runs came off of Box bouncing off of their RB or guessing wrong on the gap and getting lost in the trenches.

Box's biggest advantage is that he knows the coverages better, but that's it. Wort is faster, tackles better (for what it's worth, he's not great either), and is able to pressure the QB.

Lewis had some good plays, but he had some reeeally bad ones as well. LB play was still our weak link and we had most of our issues on D because of their play. Box played most of the game, BTW.

I've scratched a cornea. Twice. "Hurts like hell" doesn't even come close to what it feels like.

That was the pass down the middle when he hit Carter out the way!

Im not JKM but I broke a nice QB run up the middle play up to set up the score....

TT go big with 6 Linemen and 1 TE, bring the motion guy across to look like he is taking the hand off.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v621/OCC/1-1.jpg

However, Nelson sticks to his man, and Jefferson has outside contain which would blow that up... QB is going to keep it and run middle

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v621/OCC/2-1.jpg

Changed view to show closer in. As you can see this is where the ball is when the first person reacts to the snap.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v621/OCC/3-1.jpg

The D line is very slow to get off the mark. As you can see we only have 1 D-line engaged with the other 3 still having hand on the floor by the time the QB almost has the ball.. In contrast the 3 linemen on the left hand side are all flowing across to the middle

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v621/OCC/4-1.jpg

Jefferson and Lewis are going full steam ahead to stop the run, Box is still on his heels reading the play. All D line engaged now. (As the red lines show, doesnt matter who Box or Wort there is lineman to take away both LB's on most plays)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v621/OCC/5-1.jpg

Does not look a lot of room. (Notice double team on Beal at the bottom). Nelson is still following his man, which then takes him away from a position to stop the play. Box gets an O-lineman in his face and pushing him away from the play

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v621/OCC/6-1.jpg

Pretty blanket blocking from TT, noone can get off a block. Only 1 double team, and thats on Beal still... everyone else is 1 on 1

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v621/OCC/7-1.jpg

Jefferson seems to get flat footed and almost stops, Nelson is still getting dragged out, before he tries to change direction to come back to the middle. All the circled guys are getting well and truely beaten by their men.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v621/OCC/8.jpg

Still, we have 3 guys in the secondary all who look like they can make the stop.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v621/OCC/9.jpg

Nope, he finally gets taken down to at the 3 yard line for a BIG gain right up the gut!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v621/OCC/10.jpg

Not quite JKM standard but I dont mind looking through and doing a few more of the big plays!

Thanks, Sam.

Lewis was in position to stuff the blocker at least and force a cutback, but he got skyed and was pretty worthless on the play. Nelson takes a bad angle and Jefferson is too slow in reacting to get a tackle from behind. That, and their dude was fast as hell.

If you see the other thread... I only broke down the 2 big run plays TT made, nothing more, nothing less.

Box had some good hits at the LOS thats for sure!
