The WAC loses Boise St., Nevada and Fresno St. and adds University of Denver, Texas-San Antonio and Texas State. They will take the Sun Belt's place as the worst football conference.

are those teams moving to FBS?

yes, Montana has chosen to remain in FCS. If Hawaii leaves then it's going to be curtains for the WAC for the most part.

Thanks, I wasn't on yesterday and when I made this thread I must have scanned over your thread because I was looking for WAC.

no worries, my post was more just an informative one. Your article actually has commitments from schools.

It killed the thread yesterday, but it's worth repeating - the WAC was the first superconference. 16 teams, from Oklahoma (Tulsa) to Hawaii (Hawaii), from Louisiana (La Tech) to Idaho (Boise State), it covered a very, very wide territory... and alienated its original members, some of whom split off to form the MWC.

So anyway, a blessing in disguise perhaps that we didn't do the Pac-16 thing, or we might be in a WAC-like conference eventually :(

Ah, guess I missed it...wow, the WAC really sucks

No, for one reason: Teams LOVE to travel to Hawaii. It might as well be a bowl game for them and it doesn't matter how big their stadium is, because it's a vacation for the team and fans. They're the only mid-minor team that a BCS conference team would schedule an away game for and not demand at least one home game (usually two) out of it.

As for Boise... cold, smurf turf, tiny stadium, WAC/MWC. There's no extra benefit to going there.

Hawaii's stadium may be small(er than 'normal') but is big time in atmosphere and an absolute joy to be in for games. It's even fun to sit outside for rain delays if you're properly dressed. Plus Hawaii has lots of extremely serious football fans and sports nuts in general.

I wonder how many different kinds of Spam snacks you can buy at Hawaii's stadium?

no. Hawaii has been looking at the possibility of going independent in Football. To be honest, they would rather restore their rivalry with BYU than try and create new ones with schools they don't have them with.

the plan was to add the two schools previously mentioned and Montana for football. Montana decided they liked their current situation in FCS too much to jump up to FBS.
