What? Something in Texas is more style than substance? The hell you say.

I was under the impression that the conversion from ABW to ABV was figured by multiplying the ABW number (3.2 in OK) by 1.25. So 3.2 x 1.25 = 4. A regular Budweiser one would purchase in TX would have an ABV of 5%, while a Budweiser purchased in OK would have an ABV of 4%. You can go backwards by using a .80 multiplier. The TX Budweiser would have a ABW of 4% (5 x .80) versus an OK Budweiser with the state mandated 3.2% ABW.
And I'm certain this Brett Robinson fellow is just another part of the good ol' boy network aiming at lining the pockets of politicians to keep the status quo instead of opening our state up to really quality beers. So **** him.
Math? In a beer thread? Oh dear lord, the terrorist really HAVE won...

I got it in Springfield, MO when I was up there a couple of weeks ago. We MAY end up getting it here, as some of the Great Divide stuff trickles down here. Try Collins Liquor at 15th & Yale.

I really hope we get it here. My friend made a really good smoked porter, and it made me want to try some others out there.

Aecht makes a line of smoked beers that are neat to try if you're looking for smoke. I think you can get those around here.

At OU/Texas about 10 years ago, I brought a cooler of Bud Light cans, my little brother brought a big *ss cooler with Bud Light cans and other beers. Well, long story short, after he popped off for the 10th year in a row about Oklahoma beer being "watered-down p*ss" I poured some in some 20oz red solo cups and let him drink both. He had no f*cking clue which was which. We had horn fans try (they thought we were trying to poison them) most just got frustrated and didn't even try to guess. Out of about 9 or 10 people, only a few even guessed and one of those chose correctly which was which.

Well, Bud Light doesn't have any flavor to start with, so there's that...

Normally hate those fruit beers, but had a pumpkin pie spice one from BJ's in norman that was awesome. Also the Sam Adams Cherry Wheat isn't bad.

People who drive to Texas to get beer are dumb. You do know they sell the strong stuff at the liquor store, and it's the good stuff not that ****ty watered down "American Style" beer. Anyone had the beer at Royal Bavaria? It is awesome as well as their food, so go check it out if you have never been.

There are many craft brews not available in Oklahoma due to various reasons, lack of refrigeration in liquor stores being the primary one that I know of. I know of people who pick some up when they go out of state, seems reasonable. Now driving to another state to buy a typical A-B, Miller or Coors product is downright nuts.

The allure of the Texas "6 point" beer ranks right up there with other Butthead high school myths. I actually knew some dumb jocks who drove from Norman to Texas to buy "6 point" beer. Another myth was that Canadian beer was stronger - Moosehead of course being the ultimate beer one could obtain. Another myth was that the movie Porky's was funny.
