Not surprised they failed. Kind of surprised they lasted this long.

Their ribs were tough, their sides tasteless, their service eh..

I never liked it that much either...

NNNNOOOOOOooooo!

It was a great place to meet clients. Crap.

And, I loved the garlic mashed potatoes.

Okay. Help a brother out. Where do I go in OKC for bbq and to meet clients? Can't be a complete dive.

Went there last year before a concert. No one in our party of four was impressed. It was OK back in the 80's but it had gone way down hill since. Not too surprised either that they went out of bidness.

How did they stay in business so long? Name 1 place with worse bbq or higher priced bbq. There ain't none.

Sad thing is, County Line was one of the best BBQ joints in Albquerque. Doesn't say much for Albquerque.

If you're going somewhere that ISN'T a dive for BBQ, you're doing it wrong. :)

The only thing from there I like was the bread as previously stated. And for your situation, I second Iron Starr. Not a dive, but decent food.

Last year I sat next to a guy on a flight back from ABQ (connecting to Dallas) that was marketing for County Line BBQ. Appernetly the one is OKC was a their only franchise story the others in Austin, ABQ, El Paso, San Antonio, were all owned by the company. That why the other stores had more concerts/promotions and were doing better.

County line for a long time only offered beef ribs...uggh!!!

Iron Star is not a typical BBQ place....I think they call it urban BBQ. Since I gauge all BBQ's by their rib quality it isn't very good. As to their other meats I havent tried them so they may be good...I just don't know.

Billy Sims and Earl's would be much better if you want some decent BBQ particularly in the rib category.

If you guys like good BBQ try the BBQ Chop Shop behind Hibdon's on Wilshire and N. May.

Isn't there an Iron Star in Norman where the bookstore used to be? I ate there, it was somewhere between ok and pretty good.

Actually ate at the Ironstar last home game. I like it because it's clearly bbq but it's done with a little twist.

I got dragged to CL after church about a month ago. My first impression was taking my 3 year old son to the restroom in which one of the staff was "relieving themself" prior to going back to waiting tables. I have been on earth 36 years and will never, ever smell something even 50% as bad as what I smelt in there. (and I cleaned out Elephant habitats before). Anywho.....he ended up being our waiter. Between the smell, his general messy appearance, and the average food......good riddance.

With that being said, the building is awesome and would probably work as a bar and grill for upscale, urban yuppies.

Billy Sims and Earl's are both good, but not so much for meeting a client.

Yeah but the location I think is kind of a dead end. Hard for an upstart to get going in that area I would think.
