Thank Goodness, they have sucked for a long time IMO

Word is that Dan Shulman will be the main replacement which I absolutely love

Thank God. Joe Morgan might have been the dumbest baseball broadcaster they had.

I don't think this is the end of Joe Morgan. He'll get picked up by somebody. TBS, MLB network, or he could catch on as an exclusive color guy for some franchise, say the Reds perhaps.

I think Miller still has a deal to do radio broadcasts on ESPN and I do think he is a pretty good play by play guy.

It was time for a change for ESPN, but both of these guys are synonymous with baseball broadcasting. They'll have no problem finding work if they want to.

I only feel bad for Miller. I grew up listening to Jon Miller broadcast Baltimore Oriole games in the early/mid 80s. Not hearing him broadcast regularly will be sad, but I won't miss Joe Morgan. Now if Fox would just get rid of Buck and McCarver, I could watch their games.

I'm probably in the minority here, but I really enjoyed those two calling Sunday night baseball games.

i grew up (kinda) listening to harry caray & jack buck doing cardinal games,
when i lived in tulsa. couldn't stand harry.

i really liked miller & morgan.

thot morgan was very good @ putting his baseball knowledge into terms understood by lay people.

Farewell, Joe. You were never my favorite announcer, but at least you were stubborn and unreasonable.

Schurr wrote under that same pseudonym on a blog called Fire Joe Morgan until it ended in 2008.

as long as they dont promote bobby valentine to their main guy. listening to him announce the playoff games on espnradio was horrible.

I don't know what you all are smoking, Jon Miller is a fantastic play-by-play baseball man. He's miles better than Joe Buck. Joe Morgan on the other hand can diaf.

Miller is the best baseball play-by-play guy since ---- well, ever. Joe Morgan knew baseball inside and out but wasn't terribly articulate. I'll miss those guys though.

Amen to getting rid of Buck and McCarver, especially Tim. His peremptory tone and know-it-all attitude kill the game.
