long snapper recovers 3 muffed punts? dude gets down the field first all the time.

where did he come from? highly recruited? is he on scholarship?

bri
11/3/2010, 11:01 PM
The long snapper is usually the first one downfield. He doesn't stay in to block.

Boomer38Sooner
11/3/2010, 11:07 PM
It is illegal to block the deep snapper because his head is down and he is in a vulnerable position. That's why he gets down field so fast. Still a good player though!!!!

Volcano tacos are awesome, even though Im sure most of the rest of the food on their menu is worse, for some reason everytime I eat the volcano taco I feel like the volcano sauce has to be atleast 5000 calories, lol

3. The only times I go to Taco Bell are when my woman drives there when I'm wasted. Therefore, baja chicken chalupas are the best, but pretty much anything else is good. I normally just go ahead and get quesadillas and put fire sauce on them, volcano tacos, and get a meximelt.

In an earlier interview James stated that he has run a 4.4. I do not know his present speed but as a freshman it is probable that he still runs in that range.

In addition to his sister that played baskeball for OU he has another sister Rebecca Winchester that is a sophomore on the rowing team.

off topic, but one thing that bothers me about winchester down field (and it isn't just him) is the fact that i thought the rules stated that interior linemen couldn't leave until the ball was punted. else it was illegal man downfield.

I've noticed this as well... In fact, I was so curious that I watched the overhead video of the Texas muff just to see if he waited. In that case, he actually did and then showed pretty impressive speed to get down field.

However, I watched two instances against Colorado where he was 15 yards downfield when the ball left the punter's foot.

I was beginning to think the illegal man downfield thing was an NFL thing.

C&CDean

IIRC, the only people who have to wait till the ball is kicked is the ends/gunners? Somehow that's rattling around in my head.

Everytime JiTB tacos are mentioned, I fondly recall the many times we got them from the JiTB that used to be on NW23d at the Hefner Parkway back in the day. There was nothing finer to assuage those munchies. I still love the darn things, but they're just not quite as good as they were when I was weed whacked. :)

From the 2008 rule book:

On a punt, the only players on the punting team allowed to cross the line of scrimmage prior to the punt are the two players positioned on the end of the line (gunners). Should any other player except for those two players cross the line of scrimmage prior to the punt, the infraction is called ineligible man down field.

I give to you a memory and to those who never knew them the mind-blowing awesome-ness that was THE DENCO DARLIN' (the greatest food God ever made):

A Denco Darlin’ was traditionally served on a metal plate, similar to the type of plate Mexican food is periodically served. There are many varieties of a Denco Darlin’, but the standard version is a pile of elbow noodles smothered in chili then covered in Wisconsin cheese and topped with an egg of the customer’s choice. The chili was cooked for 12 hours and consisted of high-fat beef and no beans.

A customer may order a Denco Darlin with “two lookin’ at you,” which is a Darlin’ topped with two fried eggs. Or “two hidden,” which is two enchiladas slipped under the noodles. Another way was “one winking,” a Darlin’ topped with an egg over easy. Either way, it was a artery-clogging feast.

What made the dish was the side salad topped with Green Goddess dressing.

“Some people would mix the salad with the Darlin’,” said Hooper.

*************

and never forget: get three spoons, and put two upside down under one side of the plate so that the grease could run downhill and pool up on the low side of the plate.

Good and damn good for you, too.

On kickoffs, I used to watch Guuuuut (Jacob Gutierrez) and nobody else - dude was so fast and just beelined down the field.

It makes kickoffs a lot more exciting if you pick one player and just follow him when we're kicking. It also only works if you're at the game :D
