Marco Rubio.

Just elected by over a million votes in Florida in a three-way race for Senate. Hispanic (son of Cuban exiles), habla espanol, former Speaker of the Florida House, and married to a stunningly good-looking former Miami Dolphins cheerleader.

Don't know enough about him as of yet. It would be nice if he was a REAL Republican and stood by fiscal responsibility, limited government, staying out of our personal lives, etc. I also hope he's not another religious fanatic or closeted homosexual who hates homosexuals. That would be refreshing.

Regardless the guy can't be nearly the abomination of a candidate that Palin was/is/would be. She'll get DESTROYED in 2012 if she runs against The O.

I'm going to check this guy out and see where he stands on the issues.

Why?

Obama was elected during his first term in the senate. Why would it be too early for a young Republican to do the same thing?

For starters, the sheer hypocrisy of Republicans nominating him would be astounding consider that virtually the only argument against Obama was that he was too young and hadn't served enough time in the Senate.

I like Rubio, but he needs some time to grow.

Meh...he'll be lucky to be Palin's Running Mate

I still think Jeb Bush would run if Palin tries to take over the Republican Party and Rubio would be smart to be loyal to Jeb IMO.

Rubio ran as a Teapotter in theory but got Jebs support. I'd have to think he'd stick with Jeb if the Pubs tried to put a 3rd Bush in the White House.

In the sense that Nixon was a noted anti-Communist hardliner prior to the Presidency, and Rubio would be coming from a similar background towards the current Cuban regime.

The fact remains that there is a vital question about Rubio that needs to be answered. Are the communities he lived in organized and if so what was his role in their organization?

I voted for ol' Marco (man, I want to yell "POLO!!!!" really bad everytime I say that name!!!) down here in Flo-Rida, but my only other choice was Crist, blech, so it wasn't too much of a decision. We'll see how he rolls in the Senate, but I tend to agree that 2012 is prolly too early for him to try for the Big House. I actually prefer a president that has a little more beef to his resume than "community organizer" and 20 minutes in the Senate before beginning his campaign. Call me crazy, I know. He's definitely one to watch, a lot of appeal, and his good looks don't hurt him none, that's fo sho.

It's interesting that people keep bringing up Jabba the Gov and I refute with some well known integrity issues, which NO ONE addresses.
Yet, there's Grimace popping up again as another POTUS hopeful, I guess it's because someone on Politico said he was da bomb.

Another thing, getting all giddy about a governor in a state that none of you know nothing about or can really see how the guy governs, kills me. He is the decider part two. Ok, nevermind, you loved that guy until it was no longer the popular thing to do.
